I’d really want to give this location a 4 star rating, but it’s more of a 3 (3.5 to be exact).
I’ll start off with what’s great: the gym is open 24 hours which is very convenient! Then, the equipment they have access to is sufficient for a decent workout (outdated, maybe, but they all work decently)
They have squat racks, a Smith machine, dumbbells (10 - 100lbs), plenty of benches and a couple more machines. They also have a deadlifting area (although quite small).
It is a relatively small gym but you’ll be given all the tools you need to get fit and then some.
Also, there are cleaning supplies for patrons readily available! Just note that when employees are not in a bucket of wipes (like Clorox wipes) are available instead of rags and bottles of disinfectant.
Now for the down sides: the sanitation in the men’s locker room (can’t speak for the women’s locker room) is pretty poor. I’ll give the employees some leeway since maybe a customer is at fault but the walls have some strange dirt on them, and the lockers are old (one of them even had rust on its corner). Unfortunately I have found insects in the lockers themselves and the shower room. (I believe cockroaches but I could be wrong).
Now I also have to mention that all the tools are available but the space is still relatively small. Thankfully it is open 24/7, but, try not to come in busy hours if you can (really hard to get a good workout in).
I would definitely choose this establishment over some of the competition in the area but don’t expect anything luxurious from this place. It’s a gym for sure, maybe could improve to a 4 star if the facilities were cleaner. You’ll be satisfied with...
Read more7/7/24 - I travel for work and I use Gympass when I travel to find a gym nearby. This one didn’t have good reviews but it was close to my hotel so I went to check it out anyway. I’m glad I did and here is my review. Erik was at the front desk and when I told him it was my first time there, he asked if I wanted a tour. The tour went good, they have the equipment I enjoy using so I stayed. When I first arrived the gym smelled nice, but I did notice the weights were out of the racks as mentioned in other reviews, there was white powder on the floor in different areas. The cleaning solution is located at the entrance with towels and I noticed patrons keeping there bottles and towels with them as they used different equipment, which seems like they should use a clean towel for each machine. The gym should provide paper towels vs regular towels because that is not very hygenic. I did notice Erik around the gym picking up weights and cleaning up as I was working out. He did a great job as everything was in its place when I left. People that are complaining about the weights not being reracked, I think this has more to do with the customers than the staff as we are all grown and should clean up behind ourselves, but the staff should enforce this rule when they notice patrons doing so. Without consequences the same thing happens all the time. Overall, I enjoyed the gym and will use it while I’m here in this area. All I am going to say is that it’s worth it all even when you feel like crying when you start to feel that good pain because you are here to reach your goal and to do better every time and you have people helping you too when you are going something wrong or need help on the machines. Having a coach that helps you such as cares, checks up on your meals, makes sure you are feeling good or at least ok, believes in you, and shows you that you aren’t alone in any way or form is very helpful for your mindsets and makes you actually believe in yourself that slowly you see a good progress in the gym.
