The most fun!! I took my nine year old daughter there on a Friday afternoon They close at 3 pm and we weren’t able to arrive there till about 230 Which didn’t leave us long at all But I had promised my daughter we would go. We had the BEST time. Mrs Beverly, the tour guide was sooooo sweet and very knowledgeable about our towns history. I have lived here all my life and I learned so much while I was there. Mrs Beverly took all the time in the world with us, she never acted like she was in a rush to close. I highly recommend going, it’s free and you will have a good time and learn some things too. We were there till after 330, they offer a Hobo Hunt on the trail, I advise you to take the time to do it. Also they have adorable items in the gift shop and are very reasonable with their prices. They also offer a Caboose Book Libray on the trail for kids to borrow books. Take it from me, I don’t think you will be disappointing at all. So go have fun!!! And thanks again Mrs Beverly for today, you made it...
Read moreWe went to lake waccamaw to pickup some lamps so we decided to hangout and check out some things to do there! We came across the Depot Museum and boy are we glad e we went there! I can’t remember the lady’s name but she did an excellent job! You’ll see her in the pictures. We learned so many great things about lake waccamaw’s history. Like for instance, the African Americans weren’t allowed to celebrate July 4th so the lake waccamaw community said here we are giving you July 6th to celebrate. The white oriole would stay home and let them have the whole town for the day! How awesome is that history?!!!?! If you want a great tour of things that are actually interesting, check out Depot Museum!! We’re definitely going back bc I had to cut the visit short bc I was in a lot of pain, otherwise we would’ve stayed for the...
Read moreI took my son there for an educational visit and it turned out to be one of my favorite places. It was so interesting and everything was laid out or hanging in an eye catching manner that made you want to keep looking. I was surprised at how many artifacts and historic photos there were. We also enjoyed walking through the real train caboose outside the Depot Museum. There is a nice gift shop with a variety of items including several items made by local artists. This was a fun and educational visit and we were able to buy a T-shirt and souvenir to remember...
