The Kiwanis Club is an international civic organization founded in Detroit, Michigan, January 21, 1915. Originally named the Supreme Lodge Benevolent Order of Brothers. the name changed to Kiwanis in 1916, after a Native American expression: "Nunc Kee-wanis" which translates to we trade. The organization was formed to help people professionally and personally through business networking but has since grown to include helping children and communities.
The Lake Wales chapter of the club was established Nov. 1, 1926. They raise money with a pancake breakfast every March and use that money for many events and projects in Lake Wales which includes a children's Christmas party, the Lake Wales Christmas Parade, a children's Easter-egg hunt, Terrific Kid presentations, and the physical and monetary support of more than 30 children's and community-oriented charitable activities including this park.
You can find the Kiwanis Park on the south side of Lake Wailes. Park amenities include 4 picnic tables, 2 pavilions, 2 grills, ball fields, a playground, restroom, and skate park. This park serves as a gathering spot for the community to play, practice sports and team dance and cheerleading groups, and have celebrations. Read moreWe call this "Yellow Slide Park" at my house and it's my son's favorite park in Lake Wales. Plenty of stuff to keep the kids occupied and a sign language diagram that the kids love. It's so cute to see them practicing signing the alphabet to each other. This park features a playground complete with impact absorbing foam, slides, swings, balance beam, etc. that you would find on a playground. Also features a covered picnic area, I see lots of people hosting birthday parties here. A skate park, recently updated. A baseball field, maintained nicely. A small interactive walking trail, park of Story Walk. Restrooms, water fountain. The benches at the playground are not shaded! If you plan to visit on a sunny day, you may want to bring an umbrella. The playground itself is shaded by giant sunsails as. There are no trees in the area. Parking lot is a decent size, however people still tend to park...

This helps keep families invested more of their money and time in thee city and keeps children occupied and have...
