Very challenging but scenic trail. Dog friendly for the most part. Not too many cyclists and the cycling trails don't intertwine too much with the walking paths. You can take a variety of paths to get to the peak based on how many switchbacks versus incline paths you decide to take. Once at the top there is a giant bell with a hammer on a string next to it. It's very satisfying to ring after earning your way to the top. A bit confusing on the way back. Is their constructing a neighborhood and some of the pathways are not clearly marked. We used to use River place trail, but in the past few years has become inundated with hordes of families- not that it's bad per say; It's great that people are outside enjoying nature, but the trail at River place is only narrow enough for one person, so you're constantly stopping for people.
