Outrageous weekend and holiday reservation costs. Difficult to transport heavy recreational water items no longer able to pull down water while launching. Roadside parking no longer allowed as with most of these parks the upgrades and so called improvements have made them less enjoyable and have even destroyed the ability to get to the water and some have made even stopped allowing camping except on concrete pads which are not and have not been made available. Gone are the lovely shaded sites where you could have your own picnic table and pull your vehicles up to a somewhat private spot.
Parking is way too far from the actual water for most to find it the least but enjoyable
I am beyond disappointed with the loss of the beautiful camping sites at Arkansas Bend and I think the Closing of Dink Pearson should be investigated as bonds were for both parks and now one ia completely closed for some private business and the other made into something most people are unable to enjoy.
Dink Pearson was gifted for the use of the people and not to be sold for private use. When did LCRA decided not to use the funds allotted for that park and now making it a no treapassing non entry closed park?
Allowing people to park way far and walk ing in was at least allowed on the right side for a while. Very unfair and misleading as to where and how the funds have been allotted. Now there is no access robbing so many of what was given for them and the public to enjoy.
Why isnโt someone keeping these people accountable for their misleading bonds elections money fraud misuse of public parkland for privatized profit I am outraged. Pearson family have been stripped of the gift so generously given to the people The promise of parkland and public green space Lake access that has been stolen and something must be said about this unethical dishonest and outright assault to...
ย ย ย Read moreNot cool LCRA! I love this park and have been paddle boarding here for a few years now. When the fences went up and they started requiring reservations for picnic tables on weekends and holidays i completely understood; I have seen arguments over who had "dibs" on a picnic table get ugly there. However, you were still allowed to pay $5 to park and drop a SUP in the water; but no longer. I was turned away last Sunday at 4pm because i did not have a reservation for a picnic table that I had no intentions of using. The parking lot was 3/4 empty and not all tables had been reserved. Rather than allowing me to pay $5 for parking, the only option I was given was to go online and reserve a picnic table for $45. I understand the concept behind all of this, but as someone who never needs to use a picnic table here, I have lost access to a wonderful natural resource unless i am willing to pay $45 for a little patch of land I have no intentions of using. Why not install metered street parking for those of us who just need access...

The lot is empty and they say we can't pay for another spot. For a party of 6 it is not unreasonable to be able to park 3 cars. There is no nearby parking and they will not allow us to pay for more. Save your money and go down the road to the left to the free spot.
We loved coming here when it was under construction. It was free then. It now costs money, but they've made significant improvements. There are now a ton of picnic tables. Each one has a little charcoal grill and a little shade. There are also hooks where you could hang a hammock. We really enjoy bring our tubes an floating. The only thing is at about 6 o'clock the dam let's out and a strong current comes over the water that will take you down the river. This dam water is significantly colder than the other water and smells very bad. So be gone (or out of the...
