This is great for all ages. Take the kids and enjoy the walk. Read the markers about the wildlife, flora and fauna. There are so many things to learn here. For homeschoolers and online student, this is a great way to keep kids interested. You can use Prime Desert Wildlife for science, history, biology, geography, a bit of math (trail lengths, different animal species)spelling bees too. Be creative and get the req PE done as well. Break it into 4 diff.days and hit a diff trail each day. For nature lovers its 98% serine. Northwest of the visitors Center is a school payground. Recess may disturb your visit to that particular trail. For bird and wildlife enthusiasts this desert habitat will fullfill your interests. If a calm or brisk walk is what you need, bring your earbuds, and grab a trail, or 2. City of Lancaster, and it's unincorporated areas have done a great job of offering several well maintained nature trails for its residents to enjoy. If this is what you're looking for, you may also like the Indian Museum located in Lake Los Angeles. 20/25 minute east of town. (E Ave N and 155 st.) Take a guided tour of the museum, if available. Hike the sandy trails that surround the area. Remember to always wear a hat, and sunscreen, light weight clothing is a good idea. Bring plenty of water on any hike, keeping hydrated is essential. Hope this Info comes in handy. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors of Lancaster and the...

Our first time here.... after living in the Antelope Valley for years! Nice way to get in a good walk if you haven’t been doing many physical things except sitting behind a desk 8+ hours per day. LOL. Going there for your walk will help build endurance. Would have given this a 5 but... stopped in the visitor center and the young gal in the center said “Hi!”. And then the entire time we were there she was talking on her phone... a personal call... loud.... so it was very distracting as we viewed the displays. I actually had a question or two but was getting increasingly frustrated with hearing her entire conversation I knew I wouldn’t come across in the right way. Whether she’s a volunteer or getting paid.... visitors should have been more important than...

Very nice park in the middle of the city. I attended a astronomy event here which was really great. They had an astronomer come and give us a 1 mile walk and talk where he talked about the solar system at a high level. This walk was perfect for people who have basic to no education on the stars and planets and constellations. It was also a perfect night for a walk. After the astronomy walk we were able to stick around and look through very advanced telescopes that were set up and operated by a local astronomy club. They were a great group to talk to and very passionate about the solar system. I saw globular clusters and nebulae that I never knew about along with being able to see the moons and the red stripes on Jupiter. Quite a fun experience.
