A unique place to visit. There wasn't a lot of information on how to get in or what to do. The road leading up to the school is narrow, so be careful going up to it. The security/visitor center is on the right side of the road. The guy came out to our vehicle and informed us of what the procedures were and where to go. You basically give them an ID and they give you a key card in exchange. They will keep your ID until you return the key card. You take a short drive up to the sanctuary parking lot and then a short uphill walk to the building. The light coming in puts a reflection on different parts of the interior. When you look out the windows do so at different angles. It does change what you see. Notice the rainbow colors at the top of the picture. There is also a rainbow on top of each cloud. Kinda hard yo see in the picture but if you look out at the right angle, it would show. Best of...

A very colorful place. The outside walls have multiple large panels containing 4 foot long prisms that catch the light at any time of day and make rainbows on the walls and floor of the round, white interior. Truly a unique experience. Serene yet echoey. First you check in with security, then you drive back to the parking lot next to the sanctuary. While I was there a groundskeeper checked that I had a pass. I said I was excited to see the sanctuary, it looked colorful. He said the acoustics are unique as well, and he wasn't kidding. This is a place that is either silent and meditative or loud. The slightest noise reverberates and makes booming echoes. He suggested playing music! I dunno, I don't think the people meditating quietly in there would have...

Have wanted to visit Dwan Sanctuary on United World College campus for last 1.5 years. You need to stop at the Visitors Center for pass key on weekends. Not sure the procedure on weekdays. While public Access to the campus is not allowed, one is able to go to the DD. And on the way up, you will see the fabulous Montezuma Castle....wow!

Nice little walk up the path to Dwan Sanctuary. Boyos 94 year Grandmother had no problem walking up the beautiful path.

Dwan Sanctuary is a wonderful meditation room. Grandmother had no idea how prisms made on walls. (She never saw Pollyanna with Haley Mills.)

If you need a break from life, please stop at the...

This place is so freaking awesome! Zen AF. We were the only people there and worried we wouldn't get the full experience because it was a bit overcast. The clouds came and went and, with them, the rainbows! It was pretty magical. The acoustics are really cool if you want to make noise, by it is so quiet otherwise, very meditative. There are cushions to sit or lay on (definitely took advantage of those!) All around awesome experience and will definitely be coming back!
