the first time I visited, I didn't know there were three sets of pools, each with their own stairs and their own temperatures. They can get filled up with people fast, however everyone I've met there is friendly and will let you join them in the pools if there is room. Even if there is a wait to get in, it is worth it. These springs are definitely hot and feel great. The hottest of all the pools, which is the top on one the north most set, was barely tolerable to me and I could only last a few minutes in it, even after warming up beforehand in the lower pools. I'd guess it was somewhere between 110°F and 120°F. I'm not a tall guy but I couldn't feel a bottom and there was nothing to help keep my head above the surface.

The whole place was clean and obviously maintained well. The local volunteers are there during the open hours to keep an eye on things and I was told someone stops by hourly after hours, though this may no longer be true. They don't allow nudity, alcohol, or weapons on the property. It's nice to know it is a safe place to be. I loved my time here and it was definitely worth the trip, so much so that my wife and I visited again a year later. I will definitely come back many times in the future as well and I often recommend this place to anyone I know. I really can't believe this place is free...

First and worst Hot Springs I’ve visited. I visited to destress but ended up with a damn knot in my neck. Thanks!

Although now (sorta) clean and maintained. It’s just overly crowded considering there are many pools to hang in. It seems like people will squeeze in and make themselves feel welcome! I dislike the attitude of others including how I was inappropriately yelled by a short pale male. Maybe a bad day? He seemed very on edge maybe with the fact that he’s wearing sandles or disturbing the lives of other people.

So please, please, please, DO NOT COME HERE! There are so many other hot springs that are much more spacious and welcoming, as well as my hopes of others being more considerate. (I have confused this hot springs with one maintained by a non-profit apparently, that sucks compared to this) My apologies, don’t go to the hot springs further into Jemez, this...

Great hot springs overall. Met some really nice people some local and some travelers.

Pros: FREE! 3 pools with multiple temperatures and clean clear water. Beautiful all natural area and setting with easy drive and walk to access.

Cons: Pools are small and it can get crowded. The rocks on the bottom of the pools are kinda uneven and even a little sharp making it a little awkward.

Totally worth it if you happen to be in the area. Water felt great and was very relaxing. Just keep in mind it can get crowed and you might be squeezed in with others or may have to wait a bit till a spot opens up. Wanted to send out a HUGE THANKS to the volunteers that go in and clean up and maintain the area once a...
