Unsafe experience. Beware that security and Covid precautions are lacking.
Having been to many Bay Area pumpkin patches even during pandemic, we expected similar safe experience, but with larger area to allow for more attractions. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Parking is "free", but it definitely cost us over $100 in the slashed tire on a mountain bicycle that was locked up to the car (we were on our way home from the Sierras). What kind of jerk goes to a kid attraction, and purposefully slashes someone's tire? The Farm does have pretend security. After the incident, the dad of the family did not want the kids walking through the unsafe parking lot. So tried to pick up the young preschoolers with me (the mom). And "security guard" yelled at us that we are blocking up traffic for the 1 min it took us to load. Well maybe we would not have to be picked up, if they actually provided real safety.
Then Covid precautions are nonexistent. There are signs that there should be masks worn outside if you cannot space 6 ft apart. Not at all enforced. Roughly 20% of visitors wore masks, even on a train ride, where you are sitting 1.5 ft at most away from people behind and and in front of you. Sure it's outside, but it's less than 2 ft away. We try to distance ourselves, and specifically our preschoolers who were so exited for the ride, and they wore masks, as they should. We waited patiently for the next train, and tried to sit in the last row, and me and another adult second to last, thus "shielding" our masked preschooler to be ~ 6 ft away from all unmasked riders. But again got yelled at "need to move up". Meanwhile people all over the train ride leaving empty rows, that the workers later fill in with random strangers. Again, most of whom are unmasked, seating under 2 ft away. So only rude people got away with leaving empty rows, but polite visitors were disrespected.
The only nice experiences were the minigolf and the obstacle course. Could distance ourselves. The workers at the golf were pleasant and polite.
Overall, was hoping it could have been our regular half way pit stop back to Bay Area on weekends, but will certainly NOT be back.
Awful service. Lack of safety, and for $127 plus food, would have expected not be constantly yelled at, especially when just trying to just provide basic safety for younger children that this...
Read moreMy Family and Yours Truly came for a nice visit yesterday. It was ours (Youngest Daughter) first time here. Second time for My Eldest daughter and Her Husband along with my Grandson
I came in flying blind not knowing what was what. I never did any research about the farm. When we walked in, I was pretty amazed by the whole set-up.
There's playgrounds for the kids, food stands here and there. A cool little bakery too. The Haunted House was pretty awesome. Feels like a Millennium since the last time I went to one. We got our thrills and chills walking through.
What's Cooler than Kool-Aid? The Corn Maze. First time in this magnificent labyrinth of cornfields. I highly suggest you go during when there's light out. Because it gets a little tricky when it gets dark. There's also lookout Towers that you can view the maze from up top. There's also Staff positioned on the lookout towers too. Hey you never know if you'll get lost!
For you Cerveza Aka Beer drinkers. There's a little place on top of a hill that you can enjoy a nice cold one. Unfortunately I couldn't partake because I was on Grandpa and Dad duty.
Also there's a few shops where you could buy local items from local vendors. I don't have that much info because we really didn't check it out too much.
If you have little ones, there's a cool little tiny town that the kids can have enjoy. There's also live performances but unfortunately we didn't get a check it out.
The zoo area is too cool for school. If you like pony riding for the young ones. You can do that here. Interacting with the farm animals is fun.
Before you go, I highly suggest going to their bakery. We got some Jerky, donuts, a bundt cake, apple cider and some fudge. Everything tasted good.
So how was it, you ask?
Seeing your Kids/Grandkids with smiles lit up like the 4th of July.
You can say we had a...
Read moreFirst timer here. I was pretty impressed with the place. In this general area, Dell'Osso Farm is probably the closest thing to an amusement park within a 30 or so minute drive from me. They had a full docket of "Halloweeny" things for us older kids. A haunted house, THREE corn mazes, a small train ride, a slightly larger tractor/mystery ride (which btw was my favorite part of the Farm). There was a hayride (that I did not go on) and some free "ball" stations. What that means, is there is a spot where they have some basketballs with hoops, footballs with targets, or softballs with holes to throw at. It is free, and first come, first serve. But the area is "tilted" so the balls come back toward you. It's a really good place for some low key athletic practice. For those who are willing to pay a little (or a lot) extra, there are paid or ticket rides available. A big slide, a pumpkin chucking turret (really fun to aim this pivoting tank gun at the targets they give you,) an iddy biddy roller coaster, and a host of other items that I have failed to mention or remember. There are also food vendors and places to eat. The reason this place doesn't get 5 stars from me, is in line with the other reviewer. It's expensive! Like, the pumpkin chucker costs (approximate) 6 for the turret rental, and another 6 per bucket of mini pumpkins for ammo. We bought 6 buckets because there were 5 of us, and we all wanted 1 bucket each and a little extra. The math here is 36 + 6 or 42.00! That is on TOP of admission! The food is overpriced but they seem to be fairly lenient on the rules of bringing in outside water bottles or candy bars. Still. All in all. I'd gladly go again. DEFINITELY check out the mystery ride and the...
