Lawrence Rotary Arboretum — Attraction in Lawrence

This is the cutest little park to walk in. There's a pond with geese, snakes, muskrats, and many bird species. There's bird houses put up here and there. Fancy trees have plaques you can read to see what kind they are. There are benches scattered around the walkway so you can sit and enjoy nature. There's also another path that takes you under trees but I've never been down that way. There are covered areas with picnic tables to have a party. I didn't see any grills. Great park for just about anything! I was there to attend a event. A nice shelter. Plenty of benches scattered about. There are restrooms as well. Paved and mowed paths. We noticed a few water fountains as well. The real beauty is all the trees. If you wanted to know what a particular tree is growing in theses parts, you find find labels on just about all of them! I have lived in Lawrence for over 30 years. The arboretum is one of the nicest parks of the many parks that Lawrence has to offer. If you are looking for a playground, this is not the place for you but, it is a great place to enjoy the outdoors with a paved sidewalk around a small lake.
