I am amazed that there is so many 4 and 5 star reviews for this facility. Outside of the parking/attentiveness of staff, this was mostly a negative experience. This is strictly a review for the facility.
The bathrooms near door number 6 smelled bad, and had no privacy for the urinals. This is a theater not a bar...attach something to the walls.
The seats were cramped and NEED to be renovated. I am by no means a large person but had to hunch over for a majority of the show to avoid rubbing elbows with strangers. There was also no walking room, so if you had to use the restroom mid-show, you were making half the aisle stand up which someone sitting right next to me did. It was honestly so packed that if there was an emergency, I don't think everyone could have safely evacuated.
They announced the day before the show that there would be no concessions available. While we were allowed to being water in by staff, there were signs posted all over saying no outside food or drink.
At first, the temperature was fine in the theater but by the middle of the show, I was sweltering as it was packed.... and due to the cramped seating, couldn't remove my sweatshirt. I got lucky and the person sitting next to me moved, which finally gave me an opportunity to remove it. The A/C should have been set for a way cooler temperature.
The audio engineering was AWFUL. We saw Whose Live... A live action 'Whose Line is it, Anyways?' show. For those whose don't know this improv show is performed with 4 main actors and one pianist. The piano was way too loud for the first 15 minutes and easily drowned out the actors were speaking. The EQ was off and made the speaking sound muddy and hard to distinguish who was speaking. The auditorium had great soundproofing and acoustics so not a stretch of the imagination to think this could easily be balanced out...
While parking had many options in reasonable locations, there was no one directing traffic and one person nearly t-boned my partners car.
All in all, mostly a negative experience and likely...
Read moreWe went to the Canadian Brass Christmas concert last night. Everything about the actual event was wonderful! Parking, entry, concessions, seating, lighting, acoustics & departure were all * * * * *! So why * * *? The ticket buying experience was, at best, * *! I bought 2 tickets (direct from the vendor...not a broker) with a face value of $29/ea ($58 total.) The online selection process actually went very smoothly and so I went to check out expecting a total in the $65-75 after fees & taxes. When I saw a total of $92.36 I thought perhaps I'd added a third ticket to my order! There HAD to be some error! But no! When I looked at the order details, they were: Tickets - $58 Service Charge - $19 Electronic/Instant Download - $7.50 Taxes - $7.86 $33.36 in charges on a $58 bill! It's ridiculous! It makes Ticketmaster look good! On a related note, when I got the email with the ticket link, it said "You must display your tickets on a mobile device to gain entry into the event. Printed mobile tickets will not be accepted." Then it said to download & print my tickets "...just in case." In case what...they...
Read moreI have seen several shows at this location and each one has been well done. The facility is always clean and the staff is always friendly. They are very accommodating, they have booster seats for kids or shorter people (or maybe there is just a really tall person sitting in front of you). They provide ear protection and you can ask for services for the hearing impaired as well. This location will host concerts, theater events, comedians and special speakers. They even hosted my kids dance recital. Its a great place. The only reason I say 4 stars is because the parking lot is not kept up well and during the school year you get a lot of students parking in the lot which takes up the valuable spaces. The facility is great, the parking...
