Beautiful scenery but don't rely on GPS to find some of the parking areas. We parked at the Overlook area but we weren't sure we were there. It would help if there were signs stating which parking area you are at. This parking area connects to the blue and orange trails, also not very clearly marked. Beautiful overlook, somewhat difficult climb on rocks and fairly vertical .5 mile. Other trail around river is easy. Overall, it was fun to spend time here and our dog loved it but it's marked more for locals who know it than someone driving to it. Couldn't find other parking...

Very nice trail with plenty of changes in elevation. If you go up on the right, you'll come across a beautiful view of rolling hills and farms in the valley about .5 miles into your hike. If you continue along this path, you'll end along the bank of the Muscontecong river.

My one issue was the amount of food waste on the trail. I understand that this is not the fault of nature but the experience was lessened due to empty water bottles and used paper towels in some of the more...

I hiked the orange and blue loop. This time mid summer and last time mid winter. Such a fun hike. Very steep, rocky ascent on the orange brings you quickly to the summit and lovely vistas. Continue on a ridge walk to a deep forest and down to the Musconetcong river. I prefer hiking in general in the winter; no leaves so you can see more, no bugs, no wild teenagers running a muck :) Seriously though, visit Point...

Such a beautiful hike! Typically there is minimum garbage, not a lot of food traffic, and gorgeous isolation in NJ wilderness. On a hot summer day, I recommend starting with the peak of the mountain first (this will be a short but very steep climb) and finishing with a swim in the river on the way back to the parking area. Otherwise, I love doing a long and slow climb to the peak and then a quick descent.
