Thomas was outstanding! Being that it was a smaller distillery, I already knew that it was probably going to be the most personable tour and interactive tour. I really enjoyed getting to learn about the history of Limestone and the timeline of folks who were behind the creation of the distillery. The story behind why they have a bottle called Yellowstone was very interesting and tasty. I enjoyed looking at all the collected artifacts by one of the founders. After going to some large distilleries, it was such a change to see everything on a small scale and learn about their production of 8-9 barrels a day.
I liked how Thomas went through each of the bottles in the fermentation room - heads, tails, and I'm forgetting the last one, but he made it fun! We also got to see the gin still and all of the vats of mash cooking away and tasting it, too! The shipping container rickhouse was so cute with the barrels that came along with a taste. The beginning of the tour we had a taste, too. The magic happened in their beautiful tasting room and Thomas went through each one that we tried. He also had a sample of Minor Case and their 19 botanicals gin to sample.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The distillery has a very inviting feel, and I could see ourselves coming back to relax on their front porch area and attempting to pet their cat, Corky. He was one of the tour highlights for sure. Big ol orange kitty! I highly recommend this tour! We were in town for the Bourbon Fest and to celebrate a big birthday. We had a bottle waiting with my boyfriend's name on the bag when we got there. I prearranged with our Innkeeper/Host who has painted some of the Limestone labels to have a bottle selected for my boyfriend. It was already bagged and ready with a note of "Happy Birthday" on the bag. Just awesome service and tour. Thank you...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true hidden gem in Kentucky – Limestone Branch Distillery I’ve been to Limestone Branch Distillery twice now – and both times I took the tour. And let me tell you: each visit was an absolute highlight! The distillery may be small, but that’s exactly what gives it its special charm. This place isn’t about quantity, but quality – and you can feel that in every corner. One of the absolute highlights is Angel, who was our tour guide on both occasions – a true ray of sunshine with infectious enthusiasm and an incredible wealth of knowledge. She shares the story of the distillery with so much heart and soul, you feel like you’re stepping back in time. And what a story it is: Limestone Branch Distillery was founded by members of the legendary Beam family – yes, the iconic Bourbon family! This deep connection to Bourbon history makes the visit even more impressive. This isn’t just a place where whiskey is made – it’s where history comes to life. Special mention must go to the Yellowstone Bourbon, carefully crafted here with passion and precision. It’s a Bourbon with character, depth, and soul – you can literally taste the tradition and dedication in every bottle. The buildings are beautifully maintained, full of charming details. The terrace invites you to stay a while, and there's a small lake that adds a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. After the tour, just sit down, enjoy a tasting, and soak it all in – it doesn’t get any better than this. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. You don’t just feel greeted – you feel embraced, like part of the family. That kind of hospitality is priceless and makes every visit truly special. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this distillery. For Bourbon lovers, it’s a must – and for everyone else, a wonderful discovery full of history,...
Read moreCalled the day before (Sept 28th) and made sure they were doing tours because of Covid and the lady who answered was very helpful directing me to their website to schedule our tour. Scheduled for 10:00 am the next morning! The hr. Long tour was informative and Kelli was amazing. Make sure when you schedule to include a drink option during your tour! ( highly recommend the Bourbon Bloody Mary) They had two groups show up at the same time so Kelli asked if it would be ok to start backwards.. Tour was very insightful and Kelli did a great job giving us information and answering questions about the process while making us feel very “at home” instead of just another tour. After walking the production line, mash tanks and stills came the TASTING ROOM! (Be prepared and eat something, shots are small but potent!) Kelli explained the different offerings and brought incredible insight to the different blends and offerings from the distillery. Going in reverse the last part of our tour was a short video from the Beam Brothers and a history presentation that gave us everything We needed to know about this wonderful craft distillery. Have to warn you about the gift shop because you will leave with one of everything if not careful. GREAT selection of products including “experimental blends” that can only be purchased on site. The team that were on staff during our time were amazing and professional, Kelli even followed us outside to take several photos of Veronica and I in front of the signs which went way above and beyond for us. Make sure to ask for her (Kelli with an “I”) All in all a great time and a major difference from the corporate...
