This is a family owned small business and my dad used to bring me here as a little girl. The shop itself is tiny. You’re not going to walk into Hershey’s Chocolate world or anything, but that’s why I love this place. It’s like walking into the past with that old time candy shop feel. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and are happy to help you choose some of their many, hand crafted confections. The star of the show is the Lebanon County, homemade Opera Fudge. These bonbons have local history and go back to the wealthy Coleman family of Lebanon County. If Opera fudge isn’t your thing, Wertz makes their own fresh caramel popcorn right in front of you by the store’s front window. The intoxicating smell hits you as soon as you walk into the building. You simply can’t leave without trying it, or the original caramel, marshmallow blobs. There are foreign licorices, and old familiar “penny candy” favorites. Wertz is also known for their gourmet originals, like chocolate covered bacon, or chocolate caramel covered “Shuey pretzels”. . Whatever your taste, or your craving, you will most certainly find it in this Lebanon...

Try to go Tues thru Saturday....Seems like almost everything else around them was closed on Monday, so we weren't able to grab lunch anyplace nearby. Small store, but chock full of...
