The Downtown Lounge Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Lebanon

Unfortunately had a really poor experience with the food at this restaurant. I ordered the salmon after being told by the waitress it was “amazing.” What I received was an undercooked piece of fish covered in straight maple syrup. I had my friend try it as well, and they felt the same way. As shown in the picture, I took one small bite (as did my friend) and told the waitress unfortunately I could not eat it because it was so poorly made. When I received the bill, I was told because I had ordered seafood, I had to be charged half price ($10.95). I’ve never heard of such a thing and found it ridiculous, petty, and a cheap money grab. My friend’s meals were average.

The only positive was our waitress was kind and apologetic. The issue with the charge seemed to come from management, so I can’t blame her. The kitchen staff was not wearing gloves or hairnets either (we could see into the kitchen from our seats). This establishment has a kind waitstaff, but is seriously lacking in every other way. Went for dinner with two of my co-workers. I ordered the Moroccan Wings and a baby spinach salad. When the wings arrived they were tossed in a brown cinnamon and sugar sauce with a hint of heat. I am pretty familiar with Moroccan cuisine. I was expecting maybe wings dusted with hanout or tagine spices. Instead got something that tasted like chicken flavored cinnamon toast crunch. I only ate two of the eight wings on the plate. Our Bartender didn't notice or ask how our food was. He was busy watching the world cup.

The spinach salad was tossed with apples, red onion and candied nuts. Everything on the plate was fresh until it was drowned in mouth puckering balsamic dressing. My salad looked more like vinegar soup. Again I barely touched my meal.

The Bartender posted up at the opposite end of the bar to watch the soccer game. We tried flagging him down but settled for grabbing our check from another Bartender.

When the former owners had it, dining there was really great! Staff was always very courteous, food was good! Since under the newer ownership a few years ago, it has gone down hill..my experience last night was at an all time low....after sitting in the party room for almost 25 minutes we were told we would have to place our orders at the bar....we wouldn't have a server because a cook had quit... Yes you heard me correctly....then told by the owner, that the front part of the lounge was more important....have I mentioned that we booked our party a month ago and called the night of said party to confirm our reservations but she failed at that moment to inform us of her situation?
