I really loved this little Catholic Church in Lemont, Illinois. It's located up on a hill in the middle of a forest preserve. I attended a Mass that was entirely in Latin, just they it used to be many years ago. The mass was wonderful, it had so much meaning just the way I remember it when I was a little kid growing up. Even the ladies had their heads covered up in a veil, and everybody was dressed up very nice for curch mass, just like it used to be. I also loved how the priest took the time to greet every single person on the way out after mass. I can't wait for the summer time, so I can finally see the full bloom of the trees and this Little Catholic Church full of its glory in the middle of it.

It says that this church was built in 1853, but the cemetery must have been here first. Found graves from 1827 and 1843, unless they were added later. The dates on the graves stones are when people died. Many Irish. Saw families where kids died really young. A couple of sisters died around twenty but not at the same time. Very well kept. I'll visit again.

Gorgeous church on really amazing property. The surrounding cemetery is worth checking out- there are many graves from throughout the 1800s. They are celebrating their 185th Anniversary this year- really a neat place with a tangible personality

If you are a cemetery explorer, you will love this place. It is well taken care of and, if you should run into some of the parishioners,, they are very nice. The cemetery does have an active Catholic church on the grounds and if you go on a Sunday, you will hear the service outside since they do have outdoor speakers. The church is very old and a little small but very picturesque. The cemetery has a lot to see especially the area to the south of the church. There's quite a drop off on that side but the graves are terraced with steps so you can walk down and view the headstones. If you're into ghosts and ghost stories, the cemetery does have a few tales to tell. Well...
