Lena Community Park District — Attraction in Lena

Lena's park was nice! The kids loved it. We enjoyed the grill. Not necessarily the park was bad because it was very nice. We got lucky and the weather was beautiful too. The issue came when we used the building for a little family picnic and we called to see if it was reserved, it wasn't. We were even told it was first come, first serve. So we went to the park and grilled. Enjoyed ourselves. Until another party came saying they reserved the building. We were almost done using it anyways so we moved our stuff to one side of the building and this lady kept making a huge deal about it and just being dramatic. So instead of having her party come over and letting us finish while the kids went to play on the park they just refused to come over and gave us dirty looks the rest of the time. So three stars for that whole incident. Oh then the manager came out and it's a hear say situation and she was like, "well since we haven't gotten any further with the situation..." Like it...

This is a lovely group of parks in Lena. All of them offer a beautiful shelter and a play area. We frequent Lion’s park the most, there are several play areas and amenities at this park. Usually the soda machine does not work, but there is a water fountain available. I would love to see a skate park added to the mix so older kids have a place to ride their bikes, skates and skateboards without getting in trouble. I like the disc gold course, it is well maintained, and I like the new play area for smaller children that was recently added. It has a cute little space to play with matchbox cars. DO NOT GO TO THIS POOL!! WORST pool experience EVER!! TERRIBLE customer service. One of the lifeguards, an older lady, was absolutely horrid. Very mean and unprofessional. Insulted us and called us idiots. The rules of this pool are insane. You can’t do this. You can’t do that. They make up rules that aren’t even written down. The swim test is insanely stupid. If they don’t like how you swim, they fail you. It’s definitely overpriced. GO TO...
