Oct 9, Sunday- We drove 3.5 hrs from Minneapolis, parked at Silver Bay trailhead, started hike at 1pm. It took about 5 hrs to finish the hike up to the bear lake overlook (took a lots of pics on the way and had a 7 years old in our group) and were able to return the same day. This hike could be completed in about 4 hrs. Definitely needed hiking boots, since there were a lots of uphills and downhills. Try to start early, take plenty water and some snacks so you can rejuvenate while you enjoy the view. Follow the blue marks on the rocks or trees, path might get confusing sometimes. It could be strenuous but the view at the end is worth it! (The pictures are unedited)

What can I say? It's beautiful in the summer, but even more breathtaking during the fall. We came here October 3rd and it was incredible. We hiked about 8 miles and the fall colors were at peak. Lots of Birch trees, Oaks and Mapples. We were impressed with the shades of orange, yellow and red. When you get to the top of the outlook for both Bean and Bear lakes, you get a gorgeous view of the park with pops of color everywhere. We had a nice picnic at the Bear Outlook and enjoyed the fall view from up there. This is a trail worth the hike.

Well-maintained trail and well marked. Easy to moderate hike with a nice overlook of the lake. The views are also beautiful throughout the hike. This is a nice spot to see the fall foliage. The parking lot was full even on a Wednesday afternoon.

About a 4 hour round trip hike, lots of uphill, through rocks. Definitely need hiking boots - I saw some people in regular tennis shoes even flip flops and I assume they did not make it all the way around, or at least had a very difficult...
