We hiked this yesterday 6/26/2023. It was definitely a challenge but we’ll worth it. You need to be very mindful as there are a lot of roots and rocks. We are novice/intermediate hikers and this hike is a must do each year when we visit. The lakes are beautiful and for us it was closer to a 7 mile out and back. According to my IFit watch.

Enjoyed the hike not and not an easy one to tackle for your first. My wife planned this and wanted to do this for our 10 year anniversary so we did it. We also put a rock as you can see at the base of a pine tree which looks over Bear and Bean lake. Enjoy your hike and please take a picture of rock if you do this hike and post the picture
