I have been regularly visiting Denton Hindu, and it is one of the best temples I have ever visited. The priest is very heart-warming and welcoming to all the devotees. He performs the poojas very well and it is a joy to sit and listen to all the mantras he says. I always receive the fulfilling experience every time I visit. The schedule of the poojas are always posted a few days ahead, and I always try to make it to every pooja I can. The poojas are informed through a variety of ways (whatsapp groups, Instagram, and Facebook) The poojas are performed very well and there is always a lot of devotees who attend them. It is an experience you wouldn't want to miss out on. Another very important part of the temple is the classes they provide. The temple offers language, Veda, and Gavel clubs every Saturday and Sunday. I attend Gavel Club every Sunday and it is an exuberant class. The class is mostly student ran. Kids step up and take different jobs to help with leadership, presentation and speaking skills. This class has helped me in school and daily activities whenever I have to present. My sister attends the language and Veda classes, and it is a class that must be taken. It helps students grow and learn new languages with friends. The teachers that take the class are excellent and teach very well. Every year they do an annual recital that helps showcase what the students have learned and present it through a variety of ways (ex. plays, songs, etc..). The temple also encourages performances from kids and adults. We have many people come in and perform dances (such as bharatanatyam, kuchipudi and so on) or Indian songs and bhajans for the devotees to listen and have an entertainment. Apart from poojas and classes, this temple offers volunteering opportunities to help kids get a variety of hours for NHS or even NJHS. It is very simple jobs and an experience your kid(s) wouldn't want to miss out. I highly recommend that you visit this temple and become a devotee (or volunteer). This is a temple that provides many opportunities, sparks friendships, and...
Read moreAs a teen, I attend the Gavel Club as well as the Tamil class in this temple and attend the pooja regularly. The classes I attend are one of the best learning experiences I’ve had. The Gavel club is very well done and gives high school students a very good opportunity to learn and grow as a public speaker. The class can help high school with college as they can put that they attended this class on their resume. The Tamil classes held there for all ages and teach them the fundamentals of Tamil. It is a very positive and fun learning experience and allows students to learn Tamil in a fun way. Attending these classes were one decisions I made and I enjoy them and plan on continuing them in future years. The poojas held at this temple are very organized and well done. I have never been to a temple that preforms poojas as well as DCHTS. I highly recommend becoming a devotee if this temple and attending the class as well. This temple provides much activities for everyone and can allow our future generations to learn our culture and spread it further. I highly, highly recommend...
Read moreTo Priest Bhattacharya : For Satyanarayana Vratham we will pay good decent amount, please provide us with flowers, kumkum, pasupu, two plastic glasses, one for Aachamanam and another for Kalasa stapana and other upacharas for god. If you cannot provided please tell the devotees to carry two plastic tea glass size cups. Ask the devotees to bring the flowers. Please check if everyone is performing.
If you read the story and explain in detail for every time, God will bless everyone instead of asking students to read. I should not comment on the priest but could not able stop myself.
Except this every other aspect is good. For Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham or for any other occasions if you guys are falling short of people please ask the devotees to volunteer. Definitely we are all there for you and for God. Please dont take this as offensive. Thank you so much for...
