Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge — Attraction in Lincoln City

Informative way markers describe local wildlife. The parking lot is ample and there is a portable toilet. You can see dramatic water level changes with the tides. A walk-up boat ramp gives easy access to kayakers. We saw ospreys and Kingfishers during our walk around the easy loop trail. In times past we have found it blocked with high tide, so it might be helpful to check the tide table to plan your walk. It looks like there is a spot for fishing at the middle of the trail...

Very nice place. This is our tax dollars at work. Saw some beautiful sights and many people kayaking. Get outside and exercise! The only drawback is that the parking lot is Microscopic, which is actually good in a way, that helps to deter asshole tourists. There's lots of Yummy Oregon Blackberries! You'll need to bring your own water, I did not see a fresh water...

Brand spankin' new access to Siletz River wetlands. 🚘 Paved parking for only a handful of cars - hope they add a LOT more spaces. Plans are to build a kayak launching dock. NO BATHROOMS. 😱 Newly-gravelled 1-mile loop trail, good for birding. Really too bad they didn't think to pave it. It's nice & level, and would have made a great handicap access...
