Alder Island Nature Trailhead — Attraction in Lincoln City

Located right off the 101 you must be 25 feet or smaller to park (there is no turn-around).

Right around half a mile loop for the nature trail and 3 mile loop if you are in the water (canoe /kayak) and it is definitely worth the stop. Even if it’s raining there’s plenty of tree cover throughout the trail. There’s a small section where you can fish and bird watch as well. One porta potty at the entrance and a trash can. When you're looking for a relatively flat, loop of a hike, Alder Island is one of the best in North Lincoln County. There is a sloped kayak launch site that allows explorers access (when tide is in your favor) multiple small waterways that connect to Siletz River. Millport Slough is the name for that area. For some reason, this place keeps appearing in my places to review. I literally stopped here to take a photo and drive away. From what I saw....this place looks like somewhere I want to come back too. The bat and water inlets are beautiful, and the bird watching is probably epic. I'll come back to explore more next time...
