We visited the site today with a group of 8 of us. It was very special. The Farmer who owns the property, John, where this rescue took place in 2002 was so welcoming. We watched a video describing all the inside story of what was taking place behind the scenes. We were glued to our TV's in 2002 when this happened, praying for these miners to be rescued. John tells the full story so beautifully that it brought back all the emotional feelings I had watching it back then. If you get a chance to visit the site and you are interested in a huge part of history go visit. You will be happy you did. Thanks Farmer John!! We really appreciate your time yesterday!! Besides the Foundation, John is a ORGANIC Dairy farmer. His milk is distributed at many of our stores under the Horizon label. Milk. Cheese & cottage cheese. If you purchase it, it supports his farm. These comments are all my own. We need to support our local businesses and farmers💕👍😁Tickets were $8,...

Read moreThe Quecreek Mine Rescue Site is where nine miners were trapped underground for over 77 hours in 2002, and all nine miners were rescued. The cost of admission to the visitor’s center was $7 per person. A couple of the exhibits were out-of-order when I visited, but I enjoyed seeing the actual rescue cage, rescue shaft, and air shaft that were used to remove the miners. The tour guide was knowledgeable. A 45-minute video was available, but the staff did not turn it on. A gift shop sold t-shirts and other small items. This business is worth a quick visit if you happen to be in the Somerset area, but I would not recommend a long...
