Had a wonderful visit with my 91 yr old regional historian/genealogist friend, as we sought resources in the Genealogy Library. The place is full of great materials and the staff and volunteers could not have been more helpful. The Center looks beautiful and well maintained. Of course, the setting could not be more beautiful. It is easily accessible from many directions. I have pioneer ancestors in the area and felt their spirit there. I know my Durst, Hoover, Beeghly Markleys and Hendricks ancestors are thankful to the Somerset Historical Center. I'm looking forward to a...

We went for the mountain craft days this was my favorite so far everyone was well educated on their craft. We seen how different lace was made dried fruits and corn, apple cider and more everything was kept to the time period. I totally loved it all. The reason for it being a 4 star rating is because the food booth all ran out of food before 3:00. We are looking forward to next year and have already told alot of people about it and they to are planning on going. So order more food because you have more...

At the Historical Center, there are different clubs and programs in which you can learn to hand quilt, woodworking, history, about your ancestry, and other topics. They also have the Mountain Craft Day festival in the beginning...

Mountain Craft Days is a great festival to attend if you are in the Laurel Highlands. It’s held at the Somerset Historical Center in Somerset, PA. It features the work of craft persons and artisans from the region. Visitors will find crafts, food, activities for children, demonstrations, and music. It’s held every year on the first weekend after Labor Day. Make sure to save so you don’t forget next year! #laurelhighlands #somersetpa #thingstodoinpennsylvania #thingstodo #localfestival
