Three waterfalls along a rocky ravine with clear cool waters!

The biggest of these waterfalls is one of the larger ones in New Hampshire. There are 3 crossings, I have done this during all 4 seasons and have not found them impassible at any point, or overly difficult if you are ok getting wet. Above the river the trail follows several switchbacks through a pine forest. In the winter it is the more wind sheltered route and the snow depth is higher. Trees reach to nearly the top of the ridge and so even on a windy winter day tree line is...

If you are planning on doing the Ridge Loop then I highly recommend ascending on Old Bridle Trail and descending on the Falling Water Trail. The Falling Water Trail is much steeper and a little tough to descend on so I can only imagine how strenuous it is to climb this up.

The waterfalls along this trail are nice. Trail is a little hard to follow (unmarked) in some spots but you can...

Loved the trail. Slippery and strenuous but worth the visit. We visited from Massachusetts, it took us about 2 and half hours to get to the trail. We loved every bit of the day out. The guides are very helpful and kind. Did a mile and back. 2 miles total cause I couldn't keep up the steep. My heart was pounding fast. It's a shame I couldn't get higher to see the great waterfalls....

I hiked what I believe the locals called "The Fraconia Loop". You hike up the Falling Waters Trail to Cloudland Falls, Shining Rock, and Mount Lincoln. Then you continue to Mount Lafayette before heading down the Greenleaf Trail and the Old Bridle Path to return back to your parking space. A really great day hike to do in the fall!

A difficult and technical trail. Your are mostly climbing over rocks on steep and strenuous elevations. After rain the trail and rocks get very slick and you may have to do water crossings. WEAR PROPER SHOES! Boots are a must. Sneakers will not cut it. View from the top is amazing but you will work for it.

The most bang for your buck trail in the area. You get to feel the coolness and enjoy the beauty of hiking up a waterfall for about half of the ascent. The last third of the hike up is strenuous, but it is absolutely worth it for the 360 views once you reach the peak. Highly recommend this!
