Good place to stop and take a walk, or a long hike. Several trails can be accessed here so several options are available. The trail we were on followed an old logging railroad so it was relatively flat and well maintained. Some mud in spots but a good trail for an easy walk. Bridge across the river is fairly new. Lots of parking available. Just a couple miles east of Lincoln, NH on the Kancamagus highway.

Costs $5 to park here in cash but that helps support the friendly rangers there who give you good hiking planning. And the lot seems much safer than parking free on the side of the highway as many did. Great wide shaded path along the river. We did two miles out and two miles back. Total ascent and decent was 280’, so not too taxing. A beautiful walk!

The center was closed when we were there, but there is a ton of parking capacity. The 5 dollar fee will be the cheapest day of entertainment you've ever paid for. The trails are wide, host, and well maintained. Lots of caches for those into them, an admittedly average falls, and connections to other trail networks. Great area worth...
