They are open from 12-4pm on Saturdays so we timed it right when we stopped to visit. This is not the original courthouse but it is still interesting to see. The lady working was very informative about the courthouse which was interesting to learn new details about the history of Illinois. They sell postcards and magnets in the museum. There is a suggested price of $2 to view the museum which is very reasonable. The well is right across the street from the courthouse that Lincoln drank water from. The Postville Courthouse is located on Route 66! Who doesn’t love driving on Route 66. This is a must see if you’re traveling through Lincoln. There are picnic tables outside of the courthouse if you decide to eat lunch there. #bucketlist

We made a quick stop here. We spotted it on our way to another attraction. We really enjoyed the quick walk around this place. I will defiantly go back one day and really check out this piece of history.

A wonderful place to visit in historic Lincoln. Drive the town. Do the circuit and see the old building where they wanted to steal Lincoln's body. Then drive to Middletown to visit the old stage stop.

It's an excellent resources to imagine the life of the settlers and especially Abraham Lincoln. He practiced law at the original building, and this is a faithful reproduction on the original site. The admission is on the donation system. The gorgeous overhang of branches from sycamore trees provide a lovely atmosphere to relax outside when the weather...
