Sweeney Barn — Attraction in Linton Hall

We recently held our wedding at Sweeney Barn and wanted to share our amazing experience. During our initial search, we visited multiple establishments and scoured through countless online reviews. After seeing Sweeney Barn’s profile, we decided to schedule a walk-thru and instantly knew this was the ideal venue. The barn was recently restored, and the facility & amenities are impeccable. Every detail, from the rustic spiral staircase to the breathtaking ballroom, was exactly what we were looking for and considered ourselves very fortunate to have been married in a classic & elegant venue.

While the barn is picture perfect (literally), what made our journey so straightforward was due to the exceptional support from the Sweeney Barn team. Andrea and Ashley worked tirelessly to answer all our questions (and there were a lot), provided tons of great recommendations and most importantly, minimized the stress that can typically (or unexpectedly) arise. For instance, during Andrea’s final walk-thru, she led the discussion (from start to finish) and utilized her expertise to ensure transparency among all vendors. To nobody’s surprise, everything went as planned the day of the event.

We wanted to conclude with a sincere ‘thank you’ to Noel, Andrea and Ashley for making our wedding day so memorable. When covid-19 hit, all school events seemed done for. Prom was the last school dance of the year, and by the time everything closed, my school's senior class council had everything ready for prom. All that was left was for the day to come. That went out the window. They had to either start from scratch and wait it out when large groups could get together, or not have prom this year. It seemed like only a dream, until Sweeney Barn reached out. They heard that my school was trying to have prom, and offered to host our prom for a very affordable price. It seemed too good to be true. The manager of Sweeney Barn, Andrea Van Wambeke was very easy to work with. The whole process of starting from scratch went smoothly. A year's worth of work scrunched down into 4 months became doable. She was always there, ready to help us with anything we needed, whether that was a team to set-up and take down the event, safely view the event space, etc. She responds to emails very quickly, being able to clear up any questions or concerns you have, especially during a global pandemic. The place itself is beautiful. From the amazing spiral staircase, to the first and second floor, it gives a modern rustic vibe. It is perfect for pictures both inside the venue and outside of it. The place can fit around 130 people comfortably, but can go up to 200+. They have a good list of caterers they have worked with in the past. Any one is a good choice to go with. My wife and I were married here in October and Sweeny Barn was absolutely THE place for us!

Over a year ago, we had started searching for the venue of our wedding and when we drove by Sweeny Barn, we were drawn by how interesting it was on the outside. From the moment we set foot on the venue, we were in awe. When we requested an appointment for a tour of the venue, we immediately were answered with a enormous YES!

Upon our tour we met the absolutely essential Kathy Johnson. She was kind, helpful, funny, caring, and an all around amazing person! If Sweeny Barn itself didn't already make us fall in love with the venue, my wife and I absolutely adore Kathy! We loved her so much, we hired her as our wedding coordinator and she absolutely nailed it! Our wedding ran so smoothly, my wife and I were able to enjoy our wedding!

Needless to say, at the end of our tour my wife and I looked at each other in front the Sweeny Barn sign and said to each other "This is the one!" and I immediately canceled my tours of other venues.

During the wedding, Sweeny Barn was on top of everything! From COVID protocol, helping us maintain a safe yet fun environment, to keeping a traditional yet modern wedding vibe, Sweeny Barn was fantastic!

Sweeny Barn has it all, from professionalism, classiness, humor, and above all Kathy Johnson. Sweeny Barn made our dream wedding come true.
