Simmons Pond — Attraction in Little Compton

The caretakers of the trails at Simmons Pond clearly take their job seriously. The trails are well kept and there's a wealth of educational material for anyone interested in the indigenous flora and fauna, or the origins of the site itself (a man-made mill pond). There's a main trail that leads down to Simmons Pond and then branches off as part of a loop trail that passes by a couple of other ponds. The area is scenic and the trails are well maintained. My favorite thing about the hike; there are beautiful and informative signs scattered about the trails with maps, historical facts, and tidbits regarding the surrounding nature. We walked through Simmons Pond today, the caretakers and volunteers do an amazing job of maintaining a beautiful and educational environment. The trails are nicely kept and the many displays are fun and enlighting. There are plenty of benches to rest and dog shovels to keep everything clean. Great job to all involved!...
