New Psalmist Baptist Church — Attraction in Lochearn

One of the best churches in the world. One of the most awesome pastors and presiding Bishop that one could ask for. I can speak on this because he has been my pastor and part of my family for 47 years. He has never stirred us long. Nor has he ever given us false hope for belief. And has always found a way to stay connected with his congregation. Community, it has always kept up with the world's changes to help his congregation his family his friends and loved ones. Have and be able to be a service of what we all are in need of. Whether it be a closer relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Helping our families and time of need. Connecting each other using one another as resources. Helping us to get our children through school and in colleges around the world. Feeding thousands of families all over Baltimore City. Partnership in helping us to learn how to be entrepreneurs. Homeowners and etc... I could not be more proud to say that Bishop Walter Scott Thomas Sr is not just my pastor but he is like a second father. First lady Patricia's Thomas is not just the first lady of the church. She is like a mother and a sister to many of us. And I am very proud to say they are part of my life in many ways. The church always have something going on positive to offer the community the people of the community and especially our children. It's truly a blessing...

Every Sunday morning a lot of churches make their local and regional programming on tv. New Psalmist does as well. We all know that most mega churches are about bringing in the money. (Understandable because of the large overhead) 2 weeks ago Pastor Thomas preached the homecoming service for our beloved Senator Elijah Cummings and a number of our powerful politicians were present. His message was really powerful. My in laws and family were the original founders of New Psalmist. 2 days ago I attended the funeral of one of the original members of New Psalmist. Pastor Thomas was outstanding in his message once again, and the family at the end of day were left feeling loved and Spirit filled. Thank God for Pastor Thomas. He one of the originals of the Church and his natural love for his flock makes him a great leader. My first time in person but not my last. Do do so much work for the community and the city that maybe goes unnoticed. The facility is beautiful. The staff is wonderful and loving. It's really a pleasure to watch such a human being grow in to his own Spirituality. Bless You...

New Psalmist Baptist Church truly is a wonderful church to whorship and praise God in! :) I always look forward to going to service every week. I can feel God, the holy spirit in the church. Bishop Walter Scott Thomas is an incredible and dynamic preacher! :) I am always moved by his sermons. It's like God is speaking directly from Bishop Thomas to the congregation. The teaching is usually a message that I needed to hear. I feel so blessed that I get to hear him preach and witness his messages! I just love the outward unabashed praise that everyone gives to the Lord in this church! :) The people are so welcoming and friendly! I feel so welcomed and at home here :) Coming to New Psalmist Baptist Church is like coming home.
