The water feature at this park is the reason we make the drive (from Boulder) in the summer. The park is really pretty and has many fun features for kids of all ages. The slides are big enough for the big 7/8 year olds, and the sand pit box / animal structures will engage the babies. For the kid who loves spinning they also have two fun spinning toys.
The main thing this park is lacking is swings. It could really use swings of any sort, but especially baby swings. You can find big kid swings across the fields at the smaller park that seems meant for siblings during soccer season; buy it's not the shortest walk. I also wish the play area was more shaded, the structures get very hot in the summer.
It is nice that the park has bathrooms, since it is quite far from any neighbourhood. However the one time we went to use them they were beyond disgusting (and I am not squeemish about public bathrooms); I'm talking poop all over the seat and up the walls. I'm not sure if this was just a one off.. we have avoided...
Read moreThe park was nice the cops wouldn't stop harassing us. We had broken down there 2x and had a notice to remove our vehicle on the 11th of Aug believing we will be able to get it the morning of the 11th at 9 am they shut the gates trading my suv in the park saying we were not aloud in to retrieve it at all. Then the tow truck showed up and they then let them in to remove my truck after we were there for 2hours arguing with the park ranger who decided to take his anger out on a homeless single mother who lives in that suv. Now they are charging me $450 to get my suv out of Hamilton towing $50 has to go to the Longmont police department fir doing nothing and then $400 to Hamilton towing to retrieve my home. Do not go to this park thinking they ate OK if your car breaks down at all the cops and rangers are angry hateful individuals. I pray for their children and wives and hope they aren't abusive because they sur do...
Read moreI was impressed with this park.
You have to drive through soccer field parking lots to reach this park.
Our group rented a pavilion which happened to be on the south end of the park. It was a great location that was mostly isolated from the playground with a grassy knoll, but with easy and close access. Made for a somewhat private party. The consequence is that you can easily watch the little ones if they are off playing.
The park has many play features for older and younger children and spread out in an efficient manner. There is a lot of tree shadow coverage of the playground and several other pavilions. One of the features is a rope pyramid that the children spent plenty of time with.
Note that this park is behind the soccer fields and not accessible from the nearby baseball fields (at least...
