High Meadow Vista Point is a great little reward tucked along the loop trails at Rancho San Antonio, especially when doing the High Meadow Loop via Lower Meadow Trail. While it’s not the kind of destination I’d plan an entire hike around, it definitely earns its spot as a solid 4-star rest stop.
The views from the top are lovely — you get a clear, wide-angle look at the South Bay and surrounding hills, and on a clear day, you can even spot downtown San Jose in the distance. It’s a peaceful place to catch your breath, enjoy a snack, and take in the scenery before continuing on your loop.
The gradual incline to reach the vista point adds a bit of a challenge, but nothing too strenuous. It’s well worth including in your hike, especially if you’re connecting it with Deer Hollow Farm or coming back down via the scenic and shaded Canyon Trail.
Overall, it’s a great midpoint or rest stop during your hike — not quite a standalone destination, but definitely a nice highlight...

There are a couple of places you can exit the wild cat loop trail and go back to the entrance but this is a bit longer one and the views are really nice.
