Hotel Portlight — Attraction in Los Angeles

I'm not exactly sure where the 5 star reviews are coming from, but a lot of them don't match up. This place for one doesn't have a valet or a jacuzzi, which is in some of the other reviews. It is one small strip of rooms, that's it. It is in not the best location in town, very busy loud road with LOTS of noisy semi trucks driving by constantly. The door to the hotel has only an electronic lock and no latch lock at the top of the door, which does not seem very safe. The room was pretty dirty and had bugs flying around in it. There's nothing special about the room and honestly it's not even worth it for the low price. The guy at the front counter was very rude and pushy as well. They charge more than what is listed online when you arrive, and good luck if you try to cancel your reservation after you've arrived because he will tell you there's absolutely nothing he can do for you. We had to go through booking.com to dispute the charges for us for them to cancel our reservation and refund us the other nights. We did end up having to pay for the day we checked in, even though we didn't stay. It felt unsafe, and dirty. Sure it's cheap, but I wouldn't even stay there if...

Located on busy Alameda st. is where this gem of a motel sits.I've been staying here by the week now for 3 months and plan on staying here until the house i am moving into is available. I am a seasoned traveler and i've stayed at 5 star hotels as well as really awful places too unfortunately, but i can honestly say the Alameda Motel is the cleanest,best kept motel hands down.If your willing to spend 250+ a night then go stay in the marriott. Alameda Motel is a safe secure place where the owners go out of their way to make your stay here pleasant. Along with the crisp white linen you get cold cold air conditioning,refrigerator, big screen tv's, cable and internet . Restaurants, gas and freeways are close by..The parking lot is patrolled 24 hours a day and security cameras keep this...

this place was close to long beach, the road needs a little love outside of it but i have paid more for rooms that were no doubt about it bad. But these rooms were very nice, bed was clean and very comfortable which is saying a lot because i am pregnant right now so sleep doesnt come easy. The bathroom was big and spacious and shower was not stained or dingy. They were very sweet owners and you can tell they take pride in...
