Mineral Wells Picnic Area is a hike that is moderate, primarily, but tricky for beginners. It's a bit challenging, but worth doing. The atmosphere is somewhat lacking, as we felt the views of the city below were a bit distracting. Graffiti is visible throughout the hill trails, especially in the old zoo area. Still, some wildlife encounters were interesting, like a huge coyote. Due to a bit of a spooky feeling, my group did not complete the trail up to the top. On a more positive note, the end of the road contains an area that is a bit more isolated, where you might want to have a peaceful picnic or even just relax amid nature. Real flush bathrooms added a realistic plus to make our visit genuinely comfortable. Overall, I like this place as most of the time, there are fewer people here, which is a real plus for Los Angeles. Picnics, lounging, or even a little exercising in nature are matchless here. It has lots of free parking, access, and other facilities. Go to this place called Mineral Wells Picnic Area. Just remember not to throw garbage here, and you...

But bring bug spray cause the bugs come out and I mean bug come out it’s kinda annoying how many there are when the sun sets . But The last time I was there I got to see a doe it’s Lil Bambi they were so photogenic, and cute, since they knew I was talking pictures of them. Well if your looking for a nice quiet getaway for the day I recommend it and maybe I’ll...
Read moreThe "Family Nature Club" public activities was quite fun. My son Åvid seemed to enjoy the hillside as the back of the event to run up and down from with the props provided. The event provided his first time using large paint brushes onto a large "canvas" and using vegetables as art tools 🙂 He took on the pulley system w enthusiasm, too. Thanks for that, he likes to see how things work! We also appreciate the openness of different family backgrounds mixing w each other - that sort of creative diversity isn't seen as much in the suburbs. I'll make an effort to bring my son to your last event of...
