Nethercutt Collection Tours — Attraction in Los Angeles

A very nice tour featuring lots of beautiful, fully restored, and operating older luxury vehicles. The ground level feels more like a garage, while the second floor, the Grand Salon, is modeled after the luxury showrooms of the 1920s and 30s. I had assumed that the third and fourth floors would include cars as well, but that was not the case. The entire building has a variety of antique music players of different kinds. These were also on the third floor, the mezzanine, but the primary display on this level was the extensive collection of hood ornaments. The fourth floor has the most impressive of the mechanical music players with some very large ones. The tour finale is when the curtains against an entire wall of the building lift to reveal a massive mechanical music player tied to an organ in the middle of the room. It plays itself through some notable tunes from Star Wars, E.T., and Indiana Jones. Reservations are required. If you are going to the Nethercutt Museum, I highly recommend checking out the tour schedule on their website for this part of the collection and making your visit to fit a tour. A visit is just not complete without seeing this. It is an approximately 2 hour tour of this four floor building which includes more cars, a whole floor built to recreate automobile showrooms of the day, a collection of trophies from car completions, mechanical music machines and a collection of small items accumulated...

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Nethercutt Collection. We only had time for the free section, which took us at least an hour to tour. This collection is amazing and we highly recommend you go. This place is a record of automobile history with everything incredibly preserved. We will plan to go to the other part which is located across the street the next time we are in town.
