It's a nice steep trail, with a beautiful scenery along the way. The trail goes for a long time and will likely be a loop you can't do in a day (it's like 6 miles), but it's fun to go and then turn around. I'll note that it definitely isn't a climb for beginners or for those with impairments, but it's great if you want a nice dog-friendly cardio walk! Also, be careful here as there is a lot of poison oak along the trail. Yes, there are some parking spots along the road where the trail starts, but not too many spaces...

Other than that, you'd have to park on Alma bridge a little farther up or farther down. We went on an overcast Monday morning and the weather proved perfect. There are warning signs about dogs overheating on the trail so be aware of that if you are bringing your furry friend on a hot day. Only saw one other person on our 4 mile hike.
