Let me start by saying I am a Haunted House enthusiasts. I live for this time of year! And LOVE to travel to different places (cities, states) to find new haunts. And New Orleans didn't disappoint! We drove down from Indianapolis to come to this Haunted House. The drive was totally worth it!!! The location is wonderful. Something about the bridge in the background adds to the atmosphere of the attraction. The way the house is set up is VERY deceiving from the outside. It looks like it may be a short walk, though haunt. This can not be further from the truth! Once inside, it's like a totally different world! The sets were AMAZING!!! There are so many different themes. The actors really used the space well. Some jump scares without making a sound! Just perfect timing! Here's some advice. When you go, get the light up wristband. This is the only Haunted House I've ever been to with something special for their guests who got the wristband. We were behind a group, and they opened a separate door for us to walk through. Just trust me.... It's totally worth it! You'll thank me later! 10 out of 10 stars!!!

This past Sunday (10/15/2023) my family went. To start off we purchased 8 fast passes. We had no trouble getting through the venue’s security and then we were first in line to enter the attraction. The GA line was definitely a 90 min wait outside in the cold. We hat a 9:15 time slot. Parking is not available at this place FYI. You’ll have to find an open space .4 miles away and walk though grass in a very low lit area to get to the entrance.

Once we were in line, the worker explaining the rules had the biggest attitude as if we were bothering her with our presence (she was laughing with the other group right before us, when it was our turn she immediately rolled her eyes and asked if we were actually fast pass tickets holder when we were specifically in the fast pass line after scanning our tickets). Once we finally entered the building the first actor was a call lady telling us to screw off and move forward. After that we struggled to find our way with the lack of signage and actors to “scare” us in the right directions. At some point, a guy who identified himself as the “manager” followed my group the entire time (even after we left the building) under the suspicion that we would hit their actors.

One person in my group questioned why he was still doing this after about 10 mins and the jerk said “my actor said one of you people hit them 2x and if you don’t move now all of you will leave in handcuffs” (mind you we are an all black group). Luckily we filmed this jerk once we saw him at the exit (yes we posted it on SM as a warning for others because PEOPLE LIKE HIM are very dangerous- the jerk insinuated the police would rough us up after we were dragged out).

Giving one star for the experience we had before encountering the “manager” who was probably just a shift lead abusing their little power.

Also some of the actors broke character when they encountered someone they knew from outside. We saw this when we approached the lazer inflatable field, a group ahead stopped and chatted with the actor in the area blocking us in for about 5 min.

TL;DR: Poor acting, no parking, mediocre visuals, and weird management. Skip this place if you are a minority. Not a shocker that this is in...

This review is difficult. I wanted to enjoy this. The sets alone.. are the biggest compliment I can give this place.. HOWEVER the circus/neon portion looks very low quality compared to the rest of the haunted house attraction. BUT I know most/if not all sets are the former House of Shock sets.. so 13th floor has owned this place multiple years now.. and it doesn't appear they've done any changes or upgrades... other than.. (phobia) which is a $10 additional charge (BTW the 2 girls working outside never even checked our tickets to make sure we had them to get into this part of the attraction so you could probably do this without even paying) to do a 5 min mini escape room where you can't see anything and seem to get squirted with what I assume are water bottles.. while you look for a key to get out..? Not worth wasting your time to stand in the additional line that takes longer than the Haunted House line to get into. If you go just do the haunted house.. upgrades not worth it at all. I've worked in Haunted Houses and maybe I went on a bad night but I felt like they are very short staffed.. (actor stations clearly had nobody in them) also actors seem to lack training and only scare middle of groups which I know is a technique taught in the industry.. but they had a Congo line on a slow night and could've reset the scares to get the large lines in 2 different sections... this place just doesn't have a theme/story/concept.. I think it needs structure and love and could be great but I don't think it's anything to go out of your way for like the house of shock use to be. The stage shows at house of shock we're incredible and got you so nervous to walk in and now I fill like this is a pg-13 house of shock... ): I want it to be great. I'm rooting for it to be.. but this visit was the 1st time I've been since 13th floor took over and it's literally the house of shock sets... but no stage show before you go in.. no entertainment at all before you go in.. no back story / theme.. 13th floor is suppose to be this iconic haunted house but based on what they've done with this place idk if I believe that.. Hope they...

I am sadly super disappointed in this year’s performance. Hoping it was just a bad night that we went. Last year was 10/10 all around. We went on a Saturday night at 6:45. Entered haunt at 8:25. It’s a long wait but expected. Didn’t mind too much. But unfortunately This time we noticed barely any actors in any of the rooms. Especially the clown room (my fave) had two actors right when we entered and that was all. Another room I encountered a woman charging at me, but instead of jumping to the side like most of them do, we ended up chest to chest as she yelled in my face for quite some time. Didn’t appreciate the long contact like that, especially when it felt like she was trying to intimidate me. The next actress flat out asked me if I was drunk and wanted to get white girl wasted? Wasn’t drunk and was confused as to how that had anything to do with my haunt experience? Really takes away from the entire thing when an actress is talking about being white girl wasted. Idk hated that a lot. We also got the phobia room and I felt it was extremely misleading. The photo online shows an image of people wearing some type of glasses in a room and are scared. So we figured it was maybe a pitch black room and had to crawl through spaces as it says it’s an extremely physical escape room. It truly wasn’t at all. And also wasn’t dark at all. One of the boxes wasn’t even lit and we weren’t able to complete it to get the number we needed. Lastly, the line for merch was insanity. Multiple people kept cutting and when me and others brought it to the persons attention that numerous people were cutting, she kept saying we were right and there is only one line but still proceeded to help people that we pointed out were cutting. Once I got to the window, another couple walked up and completely stepped in front of me and she continued to speak to them even though they cut me off and clearly was cutting in front. I ended up leaving without purchasing a single thing. But like I said, hope it’s an off night. Was just really disappointed as we drove 1.5 hours for my...
