Schramm Park is one of my favorite places to come to on a nice sunny day. The hiking trails are great to explore and really work your calves up the hills. Right now (Spring 2023) there is construction preventing you from driving through the main part of the park, but parking is still available throughout. You will need a daily or yearly park permit to park here, available online or at the park info board. The state records for fishing are all located on the walls along with other information that is fun for a local outdoorsman. It's only a short walk to get to the old hatchery. Don't forget a small bag of cat food to feed the carp.they will almost climb out of the lake to get it from you. Read moreSchram is one of those state parks which are near the Platte River. It's a great spot for hiking or having a picnic. They have a few areas with shelters and picnic tables. Last Summer and fall they began cutting down a lot of trees because of some type of invasive species that was taking over. A lot of the trails are fairly open to the sky now but after a few years I'm sure things will begin to grow back.
