As a warning, this beach can get a bit crowded around sunset, as it's obviously one of only a handful of beaches on the East Coast where you can watch the sun set on the ocean (hence the name). If you want to watch or take unobstructed photos of the sunset, get there early and walk as far up or down the beach as you can--many people arrive only minutes from sunset and settle on the beach directly in front of the parking lot. If you're not up for a walk that's fine too, just understand that many people want to get photos of the lovely sunset and may walk directly in your line of sight to snap a shot.
