Perfect location for the Fourth of July Fireworks and festivities! We paid $5 to park at fairgrounds and rode the bus to and from the action. I recommend you do so as well, the busses are air conditioned and if you do not want to walk up hill and long distances in the heat and after the show it is worth it. There is a bit of a wait to get busses to drop off but again AC, sitting worth it. The phoner reception leaves much to be desired but just send pics and vids to gallery and be present. It can all wait, enjoy life and liberty! This year there was a free Ferris Wheel, we stood in line about 10 minutes as we got in line straight off the bus. Plenty of food trucks and some souvenirs to be had. We bring big jug of ice water and purchase dinner and sneaky snacks there. We always just take a blanket instead of lugging chairs and cooler. The concert is amazing great music for all tastes. The Youth Orchestra has come a long way, they brought tears to my eyes during fireworks, as did the "We Remember" before them. Wonderfully done, I applaud the entire city for...

My personal experience is that the park is semi clean. There's a lot of trash near the lake, pond, river when the water recedes. You could fill a dumpster many times. They clean it every week, but the crew they got half a** everything and I have been watching them.

Now for fishing, it's alright. You're not going to catch any bass or blue gill. All I have caught is channel catfish, but the cat fish are really big. For those that like to go on the bridge. Well, the bridge is damaged and unaccessible. But they did build a new structure to fish. The odds of catching fish are in the morning. After noon, it gets hot, and fish go dormant.

Park has a lot to improve on, but I still recommend...

A wonderful open outdoor space with a few water features a lot of green areas and trees. There is a specific dog Park area with a fence to help keep your furry friend safe. Speaking of furry friends there are a few areas that have prairie dog villages it's a fun time to watch them run around and do their day to day I would not try to get too close as they will bite if they cannot run away. There is a disc golf course encircling an area of the park a couple of groups were using it but it did not seem crowded. There's also a large Christmas tree being set up currently for the holiday season. All in all it's a pretty space good for an outing with the family or a back to...

What a great little stop. "Prarie dog park" is a nice place to see some wild life. I'm a tourist to this area and this was a nice suprise. Wildlife is abundant. Prarie dogs, hawks, assorted finches, etc. It's not more than a 15 to 20 minute stop. I highly recommend early morning or evening when the temperatures drop. I'm from Texas and the noon time sun and heat is a bit unbearable. There is not much shade. The Prarie dogs will eat "approved" snacks and get really close. As always, be cautious as they are wild. I viewed from a distance and had the same level of joy.
