Called for oven repair. The fee to show up was a little high ($79) but I was told it would be rolled into the final price. It was several days until a schedule time was open. Repairman showed up on time and fixed the issue. No parts required only an adjustment. Also cleaned the burners. All in all less than 40 minutes from beginning to end.
The price was $50 additional. For what? I'm not sure. $130 to clean some burners and make a quick adjustment to the igniter? ...and no parts were necessary and it took less than an hour? Ridiculous. It was working though and my wife was happy. I let it slide.
Two days later it acts up again. I waited to see if it was just a fluke. It was not. Over the next several days it would repeat the same problem. I called back to get the repairman to come look at it again. You know, service after the sale. Well, there was none. They tried to make it look as if the problem was mine and they already fixed it. Obviously they had not.
Well, all I really wanted was some customer service. That is why I called a professional appliance repair company in the first place. I could have fixed it myself, and in fact had already tried. I simply did not have the time to find the issue. We need the oven every day.
There was no customer service...unless I was willing to pay the $79 service call fee AGAIN. WHAT? No way! The lady on the phone said she'd ask the serviceman if he'd come out and look and then she'd call me back. Its been weeks. I have heard nothing.
I was going to chalk it up to a lesson learned. But when I went in to try to repair myself and see if the part was out of adjustment again, I was surprised to find that all of the screws that hold the oven together were left in the bottom of the oven. It was simply laid back together without any securing. The "professional" repairman did not even bother to reassemble my oven. Though he had no problem taking my money.
That is when I decided to review them. Taking care of customers is the most important part of any service business. If they would have treated me right I would have recommended them even though I thought the price was too high. After all, good service is worth paying for. Unfortunately this company has none...at least after they get your money. Now I will tell everyone I know this story and suggest they never use Advanced Appliance. I am also suggesting...
Read moreOffice staff was courteous and promptly returned calls. Payment was requested by the Technician (Eric C) upon arrival prior to entering the residence and prior to service or assessment of appliance, (this was highly offensive to my wife, family, and myself). I called to pay diagnostic fee over the phone so that an assessment of the appliance could be initiated. Issue with GE gas oven identified and repaired in under 30 mins. An ignitor was “replaced and tested”. Though the part appeared to be new, a non OEM GE part was used to replace the defective part therefore the part had to be modified (wires spliced) in order for the part to be placed on the appliance. Further, the final charge was much more than expected totaling to $381.66 (including the $90 diagnostic fee) + taxes. When I requested an itemized statement both in writing and verbally, I was informed that they would not provide an itemized statement. I have yet to get an email response for the written request but expect that the answer is the same. Not sure if this cost is within normal range for the replacement of an ignitor, but it seems excessive especially considering the price of the OEM replacement part is available and ranged from $70-110 based on my research. If I have another appliance in need of repair, I will not use the service of Advanced Appliance Repair in Lufkin, owned...
Read moreYou could not pick a worse service company. Communication is terrible. Took them 3 times to come out and finally say they ordered the wrong part. Never received a follow up on how they were going to resolve the issue since the parts were pre paid for. After I called multiple times I finally got a nice lady on the phone who actually tried to help and eventually offered a refund pending owners approval however the owner was over charging me and said I needed to pay for the labor for when they came out and tried to install the wrong part that they ordered I said no to the refund till the amount was corrected and days later the owner finally agreed however I was still ripped off $42.66 due to the 3% credit card processing fee that the owner refused to return. If you have to return your wrong ordered part and refund a customer's money then all the money should be refunded including your processing fee. Ended up buying brand new since this company wasted a month of my...
