We visited the swimming hole on Sunday after hitting up the pork highway in the morning. While all the buildings were still in disrepair, there wasn't an abundance of trash like others have reported. After a brief walk on a well maintained path, we got to the swimming hole. The water was refreshing, there's a little rock to jump from into the big pool. Below the pool is a shallow stream the baby played in. There was around 10 people there when we arrived, all very friendly. We had a great time!

The car ride to the site was a bit nerve wracking. The roads are not always paved, and the lanes get very narrow the higher up the mountain you go. The locals zip through so there were some scary moments. The hike to the swimming area was short approximately 15/20 minutes and pretty clear . I recommend hiking shoes or swimming shoes with grip, some of the path is broken up and rocky . The swimming areas was clean and beautiful. The water was colder than you expect but not uncomfortable.

I have a spinal cord injury and use a wheelchair. The swimming hole isn’t necessarily wheelchair accessible but it is possible. I needed assistance (girlfriend helped push me up steep parts) multiple times. Getting in and out of the swimming hole is also possible if you are willing to put in some work. I crawled and was piggybacked by my gf. Definitely worth giving it a shot.

This is a tucked away spot that is very beautiful because of the nature and river that runs through it. You will see birds and hear the coki frogs, and the flowers. Even though we were there in the winter season, there was still flowers out. The swimming hole is very beautiful and there is a petroglyph on one of the rocks. The water has a nice cool temperature and isn't flowing too fast for you to wade in and take a swim. Unfortunately after Maria, it isn't as well kept as it may have been before, but it is...

BEAUTIFUL location, absolutely jaw dropping and mesmerizing Oasis. Parking is either on the outside and you can cross the street and follow the trail and drive in and there is another parking spot that fits a few cars. Nice 10min walk through different obstacles to get to Charco Azul, just know your sneakers will get very muddy because the trial is wet and full of mixed puddles or mud baths. I recommend slippers or even barefoot, just go slow so you don't slip.

Definitely recommend this spot, it's so damn...
