I cannot give enough praise to Bear Mountain Ziplines or tour guides, Katie and Mariah. I'm a 62 year old woman and have been wanting to zipline for about 10 years, but my fear of heights has always held me back. My husband surprised me while we were camping near Luray with a ziplining tour at Bear Mountain Ziplines for my birthday. Bear Mountain is all about zipping; no obstacle courses to conquer beforehand...exactly what I wanted! I was excited and scared at the same time. The guides, Katie and Mariah, were absolute gems! I was so nervous that I could barely think straight. They 'held my hand' throughout the lines. Katie made sure I was comfortable in my gear and stance before pushing off to the next line. The zipping itself was so exhilarating and the guides could not have been more patient. My engineer husband was checking out all the hardware/equipment and was quite impressed. Not only with the quality of the equipment but he could tell it was well maintained. So if you are nervous about ziplining but really want to do, Bear Mountain Ziplining will take very good care of you with no...

We had great time at Bear Mountain Ziplines, and the majority of that reason boils down to our stellar guides, Cassie and Oriah!

A quirky, dynamic duo bonded by complete opposition in temperament! In the highest esteem, we coined them the daredevil and the librarian. Educational, informative, attentive, fun, vibrant, and enjoyably deviant, Oriah and Cassie's zest for their job really show through and elevate the guests' experience! Every single jump off Cassie would do something different, whether sling shotting herself off the deck or knotting herself up beforehand as to continuously spin amongst her excursion. And, with proper consultation and trust, I copycatted everything!

This was the 1st time I was allowed to play while ziplining, and it made for great experience. Also, I believe it was the 1st time anybody has ever shown me how to stop or twist and then get back straight as well, which was demonstrated in the test run! Brilliant job ladies! You both truly rocked in every capacity possible!!!

P.S. Thanks for...

We went here on our 2 year wedding anniversary. We have both been through alot in our lives from me to having open heart surgery just 9 months ago and him shattering his spine over 20 years agoand being told he would never walk again. We showed up here unannounced on Friday with no reservation and the day was booked. BUT they made a spot for us on Saturday.... It was the best decision we made We came back Saturday and they were equally as excited as we were and off on our adventure we went. It was the most terrifying and adrenaline rush ever!! I was so nervous bit she kept comforting me and reassuring me.... And lemme tell ya...... That meant the world to us.

As a group we had such fun and awesome banter and the best conversations ever!! I cannot thank you guys enough for being part of our journey and WE WILL see you next year if not sooner lol..... You guys are amazing and we could not have been more happy to enjoy the time with you!!! See ya'll soon...

Took my boys ages 6 and 9 along with one of their friends, age 7. The staff was friendly and the Baby Bear Ropes Course provided a perfect level of difficultly to build confidence while offering plenty of challenge. Really nice they allow kids two passes on the course to improve on their techniques learned from lap one. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is my boys friend was not able to complete the second section which I think is the hardest and they do not offer an option to by-pass that section and access the following sections via ladder. My oldest son left excited to do the Mama Bear Zipline with me later this year. Thanks Bear Mountain Zipline staff for a fun day and look forward to coming back soon. - Rick

Have a reservation. Arrive 20 min early. This was a great time. Our guides were funny and went over everything of what to do. Board the tractor trailer for a ride to the top of the mountain. Lil dusty and bumpy but fun. At the top you are taught how to stop and you get your first short run so you know what to do. Thats great for first timers. Then its off to the 7 runs through the trees. Omg it was a blast. You final run #7 is the longest and goes straight to the front. What a ride. I must this ws a great time. Youll Love it!!! Thank you Britany and Jack(I think) there were so fun and funny and work with you. This is a must to do while here.
