I was recently a bridesmaid at a wedding hosted at Broken Horn Ranch, and while the day itself turned out beautifully thanks to the bride’s friends and family pulling together, I cannot say the same for the venue’s management and staff.
The morning of the wedding felt very unorganized. The venue brought in three different couples for tours and tried selling wedding packages while we were in the middle of setting up and getting ready even brought them into the bridal suite while we were getting hair and makeup done It felt awkward and unprofessional to have strangers walking through while we were preparing for a private event.
As a bridesmaid, I spent the first three hours doing tasks that the venue staff should have handled, vacuuming, sweeping, and nearly scrubbing toilets myself until I complained enough for them to step in. When they finally did, the bathrooms still looked dirty and not wedding ready at all.
The wedding coordinator was hardly present or helpful, often hiding away in the office instead of assisting the bridal party. We were told the venue would help with certain setup tasks, such as the backdrop, but instead the items were simply left out until the last possible minute, forcing us to take care of it ourselves. By the end of the night, the coordinator had already cleared all the decorations off the tables and started setting up for another wedding before ours was even finished.
In the end, the bride had a wonderful day only because her bridesmaids and family stepped up to handle what the venue had promised to do but didn’t deliver. For the cost and expectation of a wedding venue, I would have hoped for professionalism, preparedness, and genuine support, but unfortunately that was not our...
Read moreIt is a beautiful place, the barn is amazing and has extremely good air conditioning !! The staff were perfect. They did an excellent job directing the wedding so things had a very good flow and I'm sure it took the majority of stress off if the bride and groom, the ceremony was perfect and the officiant did an amazing job making it special and memorable. The wedding started at 530 on a 95° summer day and although it was a pretty setting outside I don't of the pond. It was just so hot and miserable that it was hard for me to really enjoy the special moments because I felt like I was gonna die if heat stroke at any minute .I wish it was set up in the barn in the air conditioning so I could have enjoyed it more, instead of eagerly anticipating the end so I could get inside and cool off. If you are gonna have the weddings outside when it is dangerously hot my suggestion would be to buy 2 big fans to circulate the air and or purchase a beautiful awning big enough to provide the guest some shade. I was so drenched from sweating I was not looking forward to taking pictures with my hair looking like I just took a shower... Other than the heat the wedding was perfect and I would not want the wadding to be...
Read moreI cannot say enough positive things about Broken Horn Ranch. The venue itself is beautiful. The layout is amazing and so easy to use. My son and new daughter in law had a wedding here and I couldn't have asked for a better location, for better staff in Cheyenna and Chantel...they became my instant second sisters! They knew exactly what we needed the minute before we needed it! Their professionalism and ease in handling our issues was top notch! I'm completely blown away by these ladies. The extras this venue offered was perfect. Everything was handled and it seemed like there was nothing left out. Even when we thought we were going to run out of forks, Cheyenna ran to the store to get some! "Don't worry" were words often said! And she literally meant it! I can't thank her enough. Thank you Broken Horn Ranch, thank you for a perfect wedding for...
