Nice place if the outdoor weather is cooperating because there's no indoor seating area. Solid wines, especially the premium tasting if you like reds. I was surprised and thrilled to discover they now offer a line of ciders! I am a true cider afficianado who never met a beer I liked. These ciders were legit! Kim's is a dry base that they seem to use for all their other varieties. Alone, it's a solid practically zero residual sugar cider, but it's fairly one note. Though this is typically true of straight dry cider. It's when the brewers add other things to the base that it gets interesting. They had several options including a honey blueberry that was very nice and fully deserved the words honey and blueberry in its name because the cider brought both of those flavors to the party unlike some ciders I've tried that use the word honey in the name but then don't bring that kind of sweetness. The clear winner for me was the Herbies which used natural maple syrup to provide a little bit of sweetness and some interesting bitterness complexity to the overall taste. It was still semi-dry, but much more interesting than the Kim's dry base, and really refreshing! My son-in-law was drinking with me and thought the Razz was the best cider. It had that same dry base but used raspberries to bring both sweetness and bitterness to the party and made for a really refreshing not overly raspberry cider. They had another with cloves that I didn't like, but my guess is someone into sours might enjoy it. Overall this was a fun visit, but not a very elegant one. The food situation was kinda weak with Covid making things difficult. I was glad to get a decent aged cheddar and some almonds. I'm fairly sure they would not object to people bringing their own food or ordering food in, seeing as they don't really offer anything other than...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely with a solid selection of wines and ciders. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Plus a breathtaking spot on Sku Hill with some views of the water. We moved from outdoor spot to indoor screened area when the rain started. It was great to have the space but the full height and view screens made us feel like we were still outdoors. We could have stayed all afternoon because it was so peaceful here. I’d highly recommend some Cornhole games out by the seating and parking lot, just to keep me awake & moving my body :) The wines were good with grapes from California. I liked the 4th in the flight, the blend. Plus the Cab. The ciders were not quite as dry or vivacious as what we’d like, but good nonetheless. Especially the ginger. With a yummy selection of snacks, it was well...
Read moreWonderful wine, pleasant people! We were staying at our vacation rental in Aspenwood down the road & visited the winery 45 mins before closing, with the only customers left just leaving. Mary & Jeremy were very welcoming and threw logs on the bonfire for us to enjoy our wine outside. We tasted a flight of the reds-the Zinfandel was my favorite, my husband’s was the Petit Shyrah. Before closing up, they gave us a tour of the winery and some history of Lutsen, treating us like you would family or close friends. They have a set up in the back for hosting small gatherings-bridal showers, birthdays, etc. We purchased 3 bottles of wine, which made the tasting free and included a wine glass. We will definitely be back and would highly...
