So last weekend my husband and I came down to Lynchburg to see family from New Jersey, we decided last minute that we wanted to go to one way out to have some fun while we were down since this was the only day that we'd get to spend time with family. The game started at 7:30pm, which is the time that we arrived and were in the building, when we got there we were greeted and asked which game we were here for. After telling the man, he said that he had already sent the other people in the room already and that they were 5 minutes into the game, which means he sent them in early, he apologized about sending them in early and overlooking that 10 people had signed up for the game and that he only sent in 5. He immediately told us that we could reschedule, but we had to inform him that that wasn't possible due to us only being down with family for that one night. We decided to look at the other place locked out Lynchburg to see if there were any openings but the next game was too late, so we decided just to go out to eat. I was BUMMED!! first off this was the ONLY night to spend time with family an have fun, I'd been pumping up their heads about this game and telling them how much fun we were all going to have, to end up not having fun at all. I was really upset, and quite frankly at that time, I really didn't care about the apology, because that wasn't going to fix the fact that we couldn't play the game. One the way to the restaurant the guy from one way out called me and continued to apologize, I could already tell from his facial expressions at the building that he was sincere and over the phone was more confirmation so I thanked him for the apology and we hung up. after getting to the restaurant and sitting down, I received another call from the guy, not only did he say that we were getting our money refunded(of course) but he said that the owner gave us 2 free tickets for the next time were down, which really meant a lot. I believe that One way out went above and beyond to make the rest of our night enjoyable, even though we weren't able to "escape detention". Thank you guys so much for being generous and apologetic in that situation. I will not fault anyone for this incident, but I will give credit to both the sincere apologetic employee and the owner for the way they treated us after everything happened. I'm giving 4 stars, one because I've already partaken in "trapped in the 80's" and I thought it was the best game ever. Thanks again locked out Lynchburg, ill be seeing you again soon, and this time we'll be 10...

When a couple of friends asked me to come try this Escape Room with them I was very skeptical. Being 62 years old I was afraid that my mind could not keep up with the younger folks. I WAS NEVER SO WRONG. Once the 60 minute clock started it was amazing to see how everyone started working together as a team to find clues, solve puzzles and completing tasks to locate different keys that would be used to unlock certain locks needed to escape from the room. I was so amazed at how clever these rooms were put together. Difficult enough to challenge your mind, but not so hard that everyone is standing around totally stumped. I must say that even my 62 year old mind was able to make significant contributions. All the rooms have a specific theme tastefully done. The room we did was called (Stuck in the 80's) and was decorated to fit the theme. We missed escaping the room by maybe 1 minute. We had so much fun it didn't matter. We are planning to go back in a week or two so we can try our skills in another room called (Escape Detention). In speaking with the owners they said they will be changing the themes of the rooms on a regular basis. The next room will be called the (Indiana Jones Room). The owners would not give away any other secrets except to say that Halloween might be interesting. I work for a company here in Lynchburg that preaches the importance of teamwork with its employees. I have a meeting with my boss this Friday and plan to bring this new concept to him. I honestly believe that there is no better way in Lynchburg to Promote Teamwork, Challenge your mind, and just plain have a Blast. This was the most fun I've had in a very long time.( Who knows,, I might even get a promotion at work) Ha! Anyone that doesn't give this a try is really missing out on a great time. Can I give this brilliant entertainment more...

The kids were each able to figure out a couple of the lock boxes, the puzzles were easier for kids, there was MORE for them to do in the room and each contribute to the game. We didn't "find our way out" or solve the full puzzle but we came closer. Maybe 20 puzzles and we probably figured 15 of them, but IDK we were having too much fun this time to count.
Lost Professor: I called and asked if this was appropriate for 1 adult with, 13, 12 and 9 year old. I was assured that it would be a challenge but would be great fun. We picked the "easiest" room based on success rate/web page description. But at the end of an hour we were only able to open a couple boxes. Keeping everyone interested was difficult as this room was too tough for children. We spent at least 30 minutes trying to put together a puzzle in near darkness. Clue on cards was so hard to read....looked like numbers were backwards and upside down and very worn out. My first impression was not ideal for kids. (my kids are average intelligence for their ages) I got some inspiration for recreating at home and on a kid level for next Birthday party. But ours will be more like youtube channel *tic tock toy.
*Due to COVID had to make reservation to enter the building.
Thank you GERALD and the team there. Everyone was helpful, happy to help and very polite. Original response was based on difficulty for our particular needs not on anything that...
