***Edit*** So after our first experience, we returned to play the Experiment. The room was okay. We ended up escaping but the room was not our favorite. Our issue with the room was it didn’t flow well and each time we asked for a clue we didn’t really get much clarity on how to move on. Again the room was okay. We decided to return a third time and give the Lost Professor a chance since we really enjoyed Railway Robbery. Lost professor didn’t flow well either. The puzzle in the room was pretty difficult, especially in low light. The hints given by the game master were lengthy and difficult to follow (especially over a dollar store radio.) Some of the puzzles were so outlandish we would have never got them without multiple hints. The room decor in the Lost Professor was cool but that didn’t make up for the poor quality game. The prices for the games are pretty affordable but remember…. You get what you pay for…. I think we’ve had our fill from this establishment. My family and I have done several escape rooms at various establishments across the U.S. This was our first time at One Way Out and I must say, I’m impressed. We’ve only done one room so far but will be back to do more. This time we chose Railway Robbery. The room was decorated nicely which made for a good atmosphere to play in. The puzzles were difficult but doable. The staff was friendly and gave adequate clues to help us along as needed. My family and I had fun. If you love escape rooms like we do, then I recommend giving One Way Out a shot.

We were a group of two that had the pleasure of being able to play all five of their escape rooms. And all we can say is WOW!! We walked in and were greeted by Kristina who is a huge escape room enthusiast. You can easily tell she loves for people to enjoy her escape rooms. The lobby is spacious and well kept, which gives you the feeling that the rooms are going to follow suit. The rooms are all amazing with varying levels of difficulties. They also provide a great variance of puzzles, some of which we've never seen in any other room we've played. One Way Out has also done an amazing job in making you feel truly immersed in the game with the decor and other little ambiances that add to the overall feel. They are actively building a new room and we can not wait until it's done so we can visit again!! We highly recommend Kristina and One Way Out if you're in the area and looking to have some fun. And heck, if you're not in the area...make the drive and play a few rooms at one time. You won't be disappointed!!

Jamie was our game master and she was so fun, engaging, and kind! She set up the rooms so great to surprise our younger sister for her birthday (complete with birthday hat and chocolate bar)! Both rooms we did were great, The Lost Professor and Railway Robbery - The Lost Professor was our favorite! We had 3 adults, one 14-yr old and one 12-year old and everyone was able to contribute and participate and have a great time and we escaped both with about half the clock left. Only feedback is that for experienced game goers (like our group), they were both a little too easy. The puzzles were the perfect difficulty, but we had so much time left, we wished there were more puzzles to complete to make it last longer. Otherwise, great quality rooms and a super cool experience overall!

So last weekend my husband and I came down to Lynchburg to see family from New Jersey, we decided last minute that we wanted to go to one way out to have some fun while we were down since this was the only day that we'd get to spend time with family. The game started at 7:30pm, which is the time that we arrived and were in the building, when we got there we were greeted and asked which game we were here for. After telling the man, he said that he had already sent the other people in the room already and that they were 5 minutes into the game, which means he sent them in early, he apologized about sending them in early and overlooking that 10 people had signed up for the game and that he only sent in 5. He immediately told us that we could reschedule, but we had to inform him that that wasn't possible due to us only being down with family for that one night. We decided to look at the other place locked out Lynchburg to see if there were any openings but the next game was too late, so we decided just to go out to eat. I was BUMMED!! first off this was the ONLY night to spend time with family an have fun, I'd been pumping up their heads about this game and telling them how much fun we were all going to have, to end up not having fun at all. I was really upset, and quite frankly at that time, I really didn't care about the apology, because that wasn't going to fix the fact that we couldn't play the game. One the way to the restaurant the guy from one way out called me and continued to apologize, I could already tell from his facial expressions at the building that he was sincere and over the phone was more confirmation so I thanked him for the apology and we hung up. after getting to the restaurant and sitting down, I received another call from the guy, not only did he say that we were getting our money refunded(of course) but he said that the owner gave us 2 free tickets for the next time were down, which really meant a lot. I believe that One way out went above and beyond to make the rest of our night enjoyable, even though we weren't able to "escape detention". Thank you guys so much for being generous and apologetic in that situation. I will not fault anyone for this incident, but I will give credit to both the sincere apologetic employee and the owner for the way they treated us after everything happened. I'm giving 4 stars, one because I've already partaken in "trapped in the 80's" and I thought it was the best game ever. Thanks again locked out Lynchburg, ill be seeing you again soon, and this time we'll be 10...

" IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SOMETHING INCREDIBLE TO DO IN AND AROUND LYNCHBURG,,LOOK NO FURTHER.. I GUARANTEE THIS WILL BE THE MOST FUN YOUR FAMILY & FRIENDS HAVE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME. ( IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ) "

When a couple of friends asked me to come try this Escape Room with them I was very skeptical. Being 62 years old I was afraid that my mind could not keep up with the younger folks. I WAS NEVER SO WRONG. Once the 60 minute clock started it was amazing to see how everyone started working together as a team to find clues, solve puzzles and completing tasks to locate different keys that would be used to unlock certain locks needed to escape from the room. I was so amazed at how clever these rooms were put together. Difficult enough to challenge your mind, but not so hard that everyone is standing around totally stumped. I must say that even my 62 year old mind was able to make significant contributions. All the rooms have a specific theme tastefully done. The room we did was called (Stuck in the 80's) and was decorated to fit the theme. We missed escaping the room by maybe 1 minute. We had so much fun it didn't matter. We are planning to go back in a week or two so we can try our skills in another room called (Escape Detention). In speaking with the owners they said they will be changing the themes of the rooms on a regular basis. The next room will be called the (Indiana Jones Room). The owners would not give away any other secrets except to say that Halloween might be interesting. I work for a company here in Lynchburg that preaches the importance of teamwork with its employees. I have a meeting with my boss this Friday and plan to bring this new concept to him. I honestly believe that there is no better way in Lynchburg to Promote Teamwork, Challenge your mind, and just plain have a Blast. This was the most fun I've had in a very long time.( Who knows,, I might even get a promotion at work) Ha! Anyone that doesn't give this a try is really missing out on a great time. Can I give this brilliant entertainment more...

UPDATE: Spoke to owner (he was great and reached out to me) Went back and tried a different room....the baseball one and we had a completely different experience. The kids were each able to figure out a couple of the lock boxes, the puzzles were easier for kids, there was MORE for them to do in the room and each contribute to the game. We didn't "find our way out" or solve the full puzzle but we came closer. Maybe 20 puzzles and we probably figured 15 of them, but IDK we were having too much fun this time to count.

Lost Professor: I called and asked if this was appropriate for 1 adult with, 13, 12 and 9 year old. I was assured that it would be a challenge but would be great fun. We picked the "easiest" room based on success rate/web page description. But at the end of an hour we were only able to open a couple boxes. Keeping everyone interested was difficult as this room was too tough for children. We spent at least 30 minutes trying to put together a puzzle in near darkness. Clue on cards was so hard to read....looked like numbers were backwards and upside down and very worn out. My first impression was not ideal for kids. (my kids are average intelligence for their ages) I got some inspiration for recreating at home and on a kid level for next Birthday party. But ours will be more like youtube channel *tic tock toy.

*Due to COVID had to make reservation to enter the building.

Thank you GERALD and the team there. Everyone was helpful, happy to help and very polite. Original response was based on difficulty for our particular needs not on anything that...
