The city of Lynn Haven did some recent changes adding a splash pad, creating a little beach, and converting a baseball diamond into a dog park, also improving the kayak launch. It also has a small concession stand making a nice place for a lunch or picnic. It's a great improvement since the update there has been a noticeable increase in the traffic at the park. Neighbors can be seen walking their dogs to the park. The improvements are not inclusive though, overlooked in the improvements were access paths wheelchairs, walkers and strollers. An example would be the dog park, beautiful with a separate park for big and small dogs, water, newly planted trees. The gates to get into the dog park are to narrow for a wheelchair to get into, and a walker would need to go through sideways. A nice update but not inclusive. This is an update, the splash pad is closed and it looks like the city has zero interest in fixing it. I expect it will sit closed in disrepair indefinitely. There's plenty of different places to enjoy netween the playground to the dog park, to the memorial to the beach. The park has always looked clean and well kept. Even the dogs love coming here each weekend that we can. The splash pad has been lots of fun in the past as well. We enjoy the playground and the football field every time we are there.
