Dog Academy has done wonders for my 6 month old Maltese puppy! I sent him off to their boarding school for 3 weeks asking them to train him basically from scratch⌠a clean slate. I didnât have the time or patience to train a new puppy and asked them to do all the hard work for me. They did just that! They gave me the tools to maintain his teachings and stressed the importance of consistency. Iâve followed their instructions. Heâs been home less than a week now and he potties outside, on schedule. He no longer chews on everything and if he starts to I just tel him his key word and he stops. He no longer barks incessantly. I let him bark when I want him to (I.e. stranger at the door), but he quickly stops when I say his special word. He also goes in and out of his crate on my command.
Iâm SO thankful for Andrea and Shaun and the rest of Dog Academy who contributed to his success! The 3 week boarding school was worth every penny, and I was so grateful to have frequent updates and videos of his progress as I missed him so much! I appreciate their timely communication and readiness to help, even now that heâs home. They are still available for my occasional questions.
I recommend Dog Academy LLC to ANYONE looking to train their puppy, even a 6 month old puppy with NO prior...
Read moreAndrea is amazing! I was ready to get rid of this cute little, but sinister 10lb cavapoo we adopted a year and a half ago. Seriously, I was done with the growling, biting, and meanness that this little beast could deliver if it didnât get its way. I was so sick of him jumping up onto the table and scarfing down our food if the chair was left out a few inches for more than a second. We heard about Andrea from our vet that she could handle problems like this in one or two visits. I was sold as I was desperate but not desperate enough to spend more than I paid for the dog to train it (which wasnât cheap). I would sell it instead. She spent a few hours at the house and magically, the dog changed its tune by that night. For real! Within a week of using the lessons she trained us on in that single visit, we now had a dog that didnât do any of the terrible behavior list above. The dog is great now! Sure the dog doesnât rollover on command (although Andrea could probably train that in her sleep) but it also doesnât bite your face off and draw blood by simply removing the dog from the couch. Table chairs now remain out all the time with zero interest from my dog to scarf down food. As a result, this family highly recommends Andrea and team to help you with your dog problems! ...
Read moreWhen the vet told me my six month old dog was going to be a liability if I didnât do something, I immediately seeked out training and found Andrea and Sondra. They worked with my dog daily for weeks and it was made a world of difference! Huck was reactive of all unknown people, especially males. He was great with other dogs. They trained him all over town including taking him to the two main places we were having issues at (the vet and daycare). Now, almost 4 months later the owner of the daycare says his stranger danger is so much better and he is like night and day. He even let one employee brush him out for an extended period of time. Had to go to the vet for the first time since his training and he was so much better there too. The techs remembered his training and were able to give him treats, and he had minimal barking while there. Andrea goes above and beyond for her dogs and clients and I will highly recommend them to anyone who asks. Theyâve been a life saver to our pup, helping him understand the world around him without being so reactive. Best trainers in Bay County!
