This is a beautiful stretch of semi-urban coastline with public access and views of Egg Rock, etc. King's Beach is mostly submerged at high tide (but not 100%, on the Swampscott end) though surprisingly wide at low tide. The seawall has numerous access points and offers compelling surf at times. Adjacent Red Rock Park is excellent but has no facilities. The major downfall of King's Beach is the shameful emission of sewage overflow/contamination into the ocean that makes water use a decidedly "at your own risk" venture. Swampscott and Lynn officials have paid lip service to addressing the issue, but it remains. Posted water quality status was a promising initiative, but testing/updating occurs far too infrequently for this to be...

Passing by Swampscott, MA on a sunny, beautiful fall afternoon, the scene is serene and inviting. Along the shoreline, people are jogging and strolling, some with dogs trotting beside them on the beach. It’s low tide, and the beach feels firm beneath my feet, the fine sand packed solidly. I step onto the sand with my shoes on, feeling the gentle resistance underfoot. Nearby, seagulls rest calmly on the shore, and the sun casts a warm glow over the town of Swampscott, enhancing its...

I love this beach and the area for walking and exercise. The view is amazing! The downside is at times the smell coming off the ocean is unbearable. I believe with some environmental cleaning and care that can change. Other negative is that there are some people who bring unfriendly dogs to walk so if you have a furry family member with you be mindful. Other than that I grew up on this beach and it's a special...

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*** - There is NO Public bathroom or Bathhouse @ Red Rock Park or @ King's Beach - you have to walk/drive down to the Rotary/ Traffic Circle/Roundabout for the Public Restrooms & Bathhouse @ Nahant Beach! Other than that, this is the best part of the beach - not overcrowded, free on street parking, and a good time in the water/at the beach! Check out all my pics in the photos for this area!

Great beach to run, walk, bike, bring the pets, and basically chill... Definitely not swimmable due to the amount of carrageen moss (from the rock formations), but definitely worth dipping your toes in. If you're like me, you'll take a run, and then dip your entire body 😜, the water is very calming and cooling... #BoutThatBeachBoyLife
