This was our first time here. Our dog is new to dog parks and we took him to 3 different ones in Tennessee recently on Spring Break. He loved it, we never had a bad experience at any of those ones, so we are trying to find places near us. We live in Howell (although mother lives in Lyon Twp, but she has never taken HER dog there) so we aren't part of the "local regular clique" We have a BEAGLE. We forgot his bark collar at home. We also brought treats to train our dog. Long story short, an ALPHA KAREN was talking nice to me and my teen daughter, and then later LOUDLY EMBARRASSED MY TEEN CHILD by telling 6 DIFFERENT PEOPLE that we "were distracting her dog with dog treats!!!!"(like whoa, SERIOUS business there! Send us straight to the guillotine🙄. I WISH I were so privileged that was my biggest problem in life😑) And then nodded in our direction. (In actuality my daughter ASKED HER before giving her dog one when the dog came over and scratched at my daughters leg. The dog returned a long while later and climbed onto the picnic table where i was sitting to try to get at them! Then she said "Well! At least he's ON A LEASH NOW!" I assume that meant because we were leaving (otherwise, what, all dogs are able to run loose EXCEPT OURS?) I was not close enough to hear any of this but my daughter came up to me and said she wanted to leave and was clearly upset, and then whispered that the "lady" was talking bad about us! "Lady", Im sorry you are not as good a dog trainer as you think. I'm sure that must be very discouraging to you 🤣😂 But, ALPHA Karen, you are CLEARLY MUCH TOO old (mid 50s at least, blonde hair, likes to try to be humiliating children) Now, don't worry ALPHA Karen, we enjoyed ourselves soooo much, we MAY just buy an annual pass! And I'm 46, so rather than utterly humiliating my daughter who has had a VERY ROUGH 7 MONTHS straight, you can APPROACH ME, and TALK TO ME like the ALPHA female you clearly pride yourself on being!! (And I the adult will address your sad little problem for you) You are no alpha. You are a coward and attention-seeker who humiliates teenage children. Shame on you!! And also SHAME ON YOU for WASTING MY TIME into writing a review on a DOG PARK!!! Like I have nothing better to do in my life!! But NOBODY TREATS MY CHILDREN LIKE GARBAGE, especially while being nice to her face! We call those peoples "phonies", in case ya didnt know One star removed only because of this "Bark Park Bully" I don't know her name...but my daughter knows her dogs name! Heres a clue...Graceland, Elvis, The...
Read moreThis dog park is my absolute favorite! The amount of space provide for the large dogs is perfect. There are two pavilions for the dog owners to sit & observe their dogs if you'd like. The dogs have room to run like you wouldn't believe! The only downside is that after a good rain storm there is an area that accumulates with a large puddle of water & I'll strongly advise to keep your dogs out of it as best as you can! It smells rancid, and your dogs will be covered in smelly, nasty water. Also, owners must bring their own water because there isn't a hose provided. Gallon jugs work best! I come to this dog park as often as I can, and I...
Read moreAn amazing location to bring your dog if you’re in the Walled Lake/Wixom area. Plenty of space for your do to get ALL of their energy out. A we maintained park that has a separate area for dogs under 25lbs. I also have met lots of friendly dog owners. It does cost $5 to enter the park (for Oakland residents) or $30 for a yearly pass. Totally worth investing in the annual pass as there are other amenities like trails and soccer fields within the park. Lots of communal bowls for your pups just bring water to contribute! Two different pavilions as well so you can still get your dog out on rainy days. Thankful to have...
